If you are someone who has an Instagram account and is even a tiny bit interested in fashion, then it's very likely that you've seen a JW Pei handbag while scrolling.
The social media-famous, celebrity-loved brand is an Asian- and family-owned small business with unique accessory designs that are made with vegan materials. Not only is the quality and style of every piece impeccable, but almost every handbag is UNDER $100!
Here are a few of the handbags that we have tried and loved:
1. Let's start with the most popular design: The Gabbi Ruched Hobo Handbag — aka the "It bag" of the last couple of years. I own it in orange and it's such a fun design, especially for summer. I love using it to add a pop of color to both casual and more dressed-up looks.
If you're not as into bold colors, there are also more neutral tones, like this ivory option. Fellow BuzzFeed Shopping editor Abby Kass owns it and this is how she describes it: "A nice neutral color that will pull your outfit together, yet the style is so unique that it truly makes a statement."
And did I mention that I also own the bag in ivory? I just had to buy another color! I love using this one for special occasions, like weddings (as you can see below).
2. Another popular style is the Eva Shoulder Handbag, which my coworker Elizabeth owns and loves. She said she gets compliments on it every time she carries it, and it's easy to see why! It comfortably tucks under your armpit and zips all the way shut, keeping your items secure while you're out and about.
3. The Fae Top Handle Bag, a very chic design owned by my colleague Lara, makes a great everyday purse. It comes in the perfect neutral shades that'll match all your outfits and it has a structured look that can easily be worn with business or formal attire.
4. One of my absolute favorites is the Abacus Mini Top Handle Bag. It's so unique — it literally looks like a piece of art. And the brand has played with different textures, making it in vegan leather, faux fur, and artificial crystals (all of which look extremely fabulous).
5. And, if you want something sleek and classic, the Mini Flap Crossbody is the way to go. It's practical but still adds that extra oomph to your look. It has a lock closure to keep your items safe and inside there are two large compartments, a zipper pocket, and a small side pocket so you can keep everything organized.
