32 Products That'll Help Upgrade Your Life For Under $25

Little things that can make a big difference.

    1. Dawn Platinum Powerwash Dish Spray, an awesome grease-buster that'll save you scrubbing and change the dishwashing game for good — by making it actually kinda...fun?!?

A model's hand spraying the product on dirty dishes
A greased pan soaking in the products suds. The area the soap has run down is shiny and clean. The caption at the bottom reads
    Target

BuzzFeed Shopping editor Elizabeth Lilly loves this stuff! She says: "I live in an apartment without a dishwasher, and I honestly use that as an excuse to order takeout instead of cooking. But as soon as I got my hands on a bottle of this stuff (regular Dawn is my go-to dish soap, BTW), I put it to use on both a saucepan I used to make homemade enchilada sauce *and* the casserole dish I baked those enchiladas in, which had a ton of caked-on food. It really does work like I say it does! Like, scary well."

Promising review: "It cleans so well my dishes squeak! Really loving this! I feel like I’m not wasting so much detergent. Plus, I love that I can squirt it directly into the plastic straws on my reusable travel cups!" —Gma

Get it from Target for $4.99.

    2. Handy dandy faucet extenders so your little one can actually reach the sink to wash their (often v nasty) hands. They'll feel more grown-up and you'll feel like there's one less hurdle to teaching them independence in the bathroom.

kid washing hands under white and gray faucet extender, which makes the water come out closer to the front of the sink
    Amazon

Promising review: "Before I knew a thing like this existed, I spent the time it took to wash my squirming kiddo's hands one at a time wondering how long it was going to take for his arms to grow enough to reach the faucet. I'm so glad I have this thing now! The setup is just taking it out of the box and stretching the rubber part around the faucet; took two seconds plus some time to adjust to the best angle. Now I can wash my 15-month-old's hands at the same time and the whole process is much faster and easier. He liked it right away too! A bit too much honestly. The worst part about this product is my toddler grabbing it and trying to use it as a water launcher, but that has been easy enough to avoid. The little rubber part pivots a bit so there is flexibility in how you wrap it around your faucet and what angle the water comes out of the chute, but it doesn't pivot THAT much, so as other reviews have mentioned it won't work with upward-angled faucets." —Michelle G.

    3. An amazing automatic spinning makeup brush cleaner and dryer that'll turn a tedious chore into a super quick and satisfying one. Just put soap and water in the jar, attach the right size "collar" (there are eight, so together they can fit almost any brush) to the spinner, and let 'em spin away in the liquid to clean and in the air to dry.

Promising review: "I usually don’t write reviews, but this is a game-changer! I bought this with very low expectations. I didn’t think it would clean the brushes but I heard these devices are great for drying brushes. This cleaned my brushes and dries them in no time. This is probably my greatest Amazon purchase to date." —Dianna K.

Get it from Amazon for $18.98 (available in two colors).

    4. An adjustable and collapsible kitchen stand you can use to hold bags open for easier storage and clean-up *or* as a versatile drying rack for tricky things like bottles, graters, or cookie sheets. It's the multifunctional wonder your kitchen has been missing.

black four prong stand holding plastic bag open
rack drying water bottle and cheese grater

Promising review: "Beyond 5 stars. I can't find anything I don't like about this piece of ingenuity. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it. Holds pretty much anything; poles are super tall for large cups and pans and blender containers. It holds Ziploc bags to dry and a gallon Ziploc bag as a container. Holds my reusable beeswax wraps. Folds away out of sight." —Firecracker

Get it from Amazon for $19+ (available in two colors).

Here are some other useful kitchen gadgets!

    5. An adjustable shower head with five spray modes to turn every shower into a luxury experience and solve your water pressure woes.

shower head with rain, mist, massage, rain and mist, and rain and massage settings
    Amazon

Promising review: "Affordable upgrade. Very pleasantly surprised with this affordable shower head. It was very easy to install, looks nice and significantly increased the water flow and pressure in our shower. It has five different settings which are easy to change using the small switch/lever. The shower head itself is also adjustable allowing you to direct the spray somewhat. I definitely recommend it." —J. Gibson

    6. Cloud Paint, Glossier's bestselling gel-cream blush that's cruelty-free, buildable, and absolutely beloved by reviewers, so it's ready to become your new holy grail.

    model wearing natural-looking pink blush
tubes of the product in different shades
    Glossier

Promising review: "I've been on the hunt for years to replicate that rosy 'just went for a run' look that my cheeks get when I work out, and the blushes I thought were close were either too red or pinky and artificial looking. I saw the shade Storm and I was worried it would be too dark on my light-medium skin but it's not! It blends *s e a m l e s s l e y* into a healthy flush that looks exactly it's my own skin and not makeup. The texture is unlike any cream or liquid blush I've tried, it evenly disperses the pigment as you blend it in with your fingers or a foundation brush and you don't have to worry about overdoing it." —BabydollyVintage

Get it from Glossier for $18 (available in eight colors).

    7. Cute and incredibly absorbent dish cloths that will save you money and waste from paper towels and, unlike your nasty dish sponge, can be washed and used over and over!

pink, green, blue, and yellow dishcloths
cloth stuck in glass of water, absorbing a lot

Promising review: "So much better than paper towels. The worst problem is making myself use them for certain tasks I would typically reserve for disposable paper towels. The cloths are bright and have a nice design. I have to remind myself it is okay to use them to wipe up the floor as well as a counter top. They are easy to sanitize and reuse: washing machine, top dishwasher rack, or a minute on high in the microwave. I use the dishwasher or microwave when the cloths have been lightly used (non-gross cleaning tasks). If used for floors, bathrooms, pet messes, etc. I wash them with other cleaning cloths on the sanitary cycle in the washer. I have two sets of cloths. One set is used strictly for the kitchen. The other set is for everything else. We are saving a small fortune in paper towels. I use the cloths for washing windows and cleaning mirrors. They work well with vinegar, glass cleaners, bathroom sprays, etc. Highly recommend." —LS Reviewer

Promising reviews: "I have adult children living with me at the moment. I needed clear cleaning instructions/expectations for them to contribute with the house. This easy printout has solved so many arguments. It works great for our situation." —Jennifer Jarvis

    9. A handy tube of aloe, safflower, and vitamin E oil cuticle balm by Sally Hansen, because you don't have to suffer cracked knuckles and cuticles all winter. Your hardworking hands deserve better.

model applying balm to cuticles from pink tube
    reviewer's perfect nails and cuticles

Promising review: "This stuff is the bomb for winter hands. Not just for cuticles; I’ve been using it on my dry knuckles too. Improves my hands immediately. Love it!" —kimberly tijunelis

Get it from Amazon for $6.99.

    10. An awesome mini donut maker that'll turn donut mix or any other kind of batter (store-bought is fine, I won't tell!) into seven scrumptious snack-size circles in minutes. It even comes with a recipe book so you'll have a ~hole~ lot of ideas for toppings and glazes.

    donuts in the maker
mint green maker with sugar dusted and frosted chocolate donuts topped with nuts

Promising review: "Donut pass this up. This little device has changed how we brunch! It has a decently long cord, which makes it easy to use in a kitchen without a ton of outlets, and it only takes a few minutes to heat up. Once ready, it only takes 5–7 minutes to make a batch of delicious and piping hot mini donuts. It comes with a book with all kinds of donut recipes, which is so helpful. The plates get really hot so it definitely isn't safe for kids to use, but I use a makeshift Ziploc piping bag to help keep my distance while I fill the molds, which I highly recommend. I wish the plates were removable, that would make it much easier to clean, but it isn't very difficult to sponge it down once cool." —Stephanierunsforfun

Get it from Amazon for $21.50+ (available in two designs).

    11. Smart 10, a cool twist on a trivia game that's not too easy or hard and doesn't take too long or short a time to play. It's Goldilocks-level jusssstttt right for time at home with your fam.

game box and device that stores cards and has removable pegs to reveal answers
    Amazon

I'm not much of a games person, but my family does love Bananagrams. So when the makers of our fave word game sent me this cool trivia game from their brand, I figured it was worth a try. I played it while home with my parents and it was so much fun! To play, you pass around the device holding the trivia cards (which is a bit unwieldy, my one complaint) and take turns answering the trivia prompt. Each card has a main question (like which movie a duo of iconic characters is from) and 10 parts of that question around the side (for example, 10 character duos, like Rose and Jack). Players pass the device around, each answering one prompt and removing the corresponding marker to see if they were right (so I'd say "Titanic" and pass it off for someone else to answer for a different duo). You collect points for each right answer but are out of the round if you get one wrong. Then, you move to the next card and the first player to 30 points wins. I really enjoyed the mix of questions — because they cover everything from pop culture to geography to history, there's something for everyone. Plus, each card has prompts that are easier and some that are harder, so you can be strategic about which you answer. I'm looking forward to playing again!

Get it from Amazon for $13.31.

    12. An embellished lace detachable collar you can use to trick people into thinking you're a layering pro (with this, you basically are) and make blah tops and sweaters suddenly look all *fancy*.

A reviewer wearing the white collar peeking out of a gray sweater
The dickey, with the embellished collar, underarm straps, and what looks like the front of a white button-down

Promising review: "This is one of my favorite finds on Amazon. I didn't expect much, but it's actually awesome. The straps keep it in place without moving or chafing. It looks awesome — the quality of the lace is really good. It's two layers of lace. It's so cute. I will buy a couple more! Takes the bulk out of layering with a sweater and looks super fancy. Not too tight around the neck — I was able to button the top and not feel like I was choking. This is a new favorite wardrobe item for me!" —C. Bailey

Get it from Amazon for $12.95.

    13. A double-pocket caddy that'll slide onto the handle of your rolling suitcase, because it feels like even Machamp doesn't have enough arms to make getting through an airport or train station easy. It's especially impossible once you stop at Starbucks or fill up a big ol' water bottle — thankfully, this will provide you with two easy-to-access cup holders to make getting from check-in to boarding a breeze.

blue two pocket caddy on suitcase handle holding phone and coffee cup
    Amazon

Promising review: "Got compliments on its first travel day! So easy to use and sturdy. I use one side for drinks, the other side for sandwiches, and the small pocket for receipts, napkins, or utensils. Made traveling easy. ***This is best used with a suitcase that can roll on four wheels if you plan on using it for drinks you purchase at the airport!*** I’m sure it can be used with two-wheeled suitcases, but be aware of your drinks. If your drink is in a fully enclosed container, then no worries. If your drinks have sip openings, you might spill." —Joanne Livingston

    14. Magnetacks, which should perhaps instead be called magnet hacks, since they allow you to pin things to your wall or bulletin board without putting holes in them — the magnets keep them secured to the base of the tack! Hello, preserving pics and artwork like never before.

    The Magnetack/Etsy

They're from a Miami-based small business! As the reviewer below mentions, these should be kept away from kids and pets because even small magnets can be dangerous if swallowed.

Promising review: "These are so nice to use. One of my grandkids made me a beautiful drawing, and even framed it for me. I couldn’t just stick pins in it. Much like posters, I’ve always been concerned with the holes put in them to keep them up. These lovelies do the job superbly, and no holes! The magnets are so strong this old person had real fun getting them apart. Caution! Keep them away from your younguns and your pets!" —Lynda

    15. A convenient dry erase board that fits right in front of your monitor so your most important notes will be pretty much impossible to forget. It's got a handy storage compartment on the side and looks super ~aesthetically pleasing~ too!

the slanted white board between a keyboard and monitor with a side drawer and pen slot at the top
    Amazon

It even comes with a marker! Back in the days of going to the office, my work bestie had something like this on her desk and it put my zillion sticky notes to shame, both function- and fashion-wise.

Promising review: "OMG where was this 20 years ago?I have ADHD and would always misplace to do lists, or misplace clipboards with reminders on them. They would get lost in the shuffle. Smartphone reminders are more of a hassle than they are worth with some informal lists that you think of spur of the moment (though sometimes they are great). Unlike other boards, I can put this in front of my FACE under the computer screen so I never overlook or forget it like every other system I've ever used in my life. This acts like a much more stylish and effective anchor or central 'office' for my quick VIP reminders. THANK YOU! I just wish ya had invented it 20 years ago!" —D Louis

    16. A genius microwave- and dishwasher-safe bowl complete with a handle, lid, and removable phone stand (!!!!) to enable peak laziness as you indulge in some ramen, pasta, soup, or cereal for one with the greatest side dish of all — your For You page.

model eating ramen out of bowl with phone propped horizontally on it
bowls with pink and green lids, one holding phone and grapes
    Amazon

Promising reviews: "Haven't had it long, but so far it has survived a toddler, a kindergartner with a grudge, and an angsty pre-teen in addition to allowing me to enjoy my lunch while watching an obscene amount of YouTube. Not only do I like it, but I'll probably be buying another in a different color after it is inevitably stolen by the previously mentioned pre-teen." —dabston

"It's very light, with a huge capacity for soups, salads, mac 'n' cheese, spaghetti, stews, etc. If I didn't have any dishes, this actually would be the only thing I need other than a plate. Love the lid, as you can put it in the microwave, and the top does not blow off. It WILL stain with tomato-based sauces. Who cares, as long as I've got my bowl, I'm happy! Great for camping as it is virtually weightless. :) It's pretty much indestructible." —Sheryl L. Ketchum

Get it from Amazon for $16.99 (available in three colors).

They even have handles on the sides!

Promising review: "Our 1-year-old has so many toys, so we needed to find a simple solution to keep them tucked away when not in use. This bin was perfect. We've taught her how to put away her toys, and the bin is soft enough for her to use without us worrying about her hurting herself. We loved her bin so much that we decided to buy another. Unlike baskets, these can be stacked. Now we're even considering getting a couple more for Grandpa's house." — R.G.

I use this one for travel and it's perfect (I have a larger one for all my jewelry as well. I really like that you can move the little dividers in the bottom compartment around, too; that's been very helpful." —Dee

Promising review: "Gorgeous artificial flowers!! Perfect for those of us who are allergy-riddled floral enthusiasts. I use them for seasonal and holiday decorating, as well as homemade gifts for my family and friends. Promising review: "AMAZING AND LIFE-CHANGING! THIS IS THE MOST AMAZING PRODUCT I'VE BOUGHT FROM AMAZON! I love iced coffee but only kinda like hot coffee. So I've suffered through years of trying to make iced coffee. Pour hot coffee over ice? Diluted trash. Put coffee in freezer? Takes hours! Half the time I'd forget it and have to then microwave my frozen brick of coffee. I ended up buying iced coffee way too much, basically throwing away money. Since I've bought this, I've used it one to three times a day, and over the six-ish months I've had it, have bought coffee maybe three times. If you love iced coffee, you need this! I'm not getting paid to promote this, I promise, it really is life-changing for the iced coffee addict. There is an issue with the threading of the top screwing into the bottom. It does unattach and cause issues. But! A small price to pay for the incredible invention. I LOVE THIS PRODUCT! So amazing, yet so simple. Buy two in case something happens to your first. I'm not being dramatic. At the price, it really is magical." —Amazon Customer
