15 Editing Fails In Major TV Shows & Movies That Can't Be Ignored Once You Know About Them

And even in the age of social media, not everyone's mistakes live forever on the internet (at least not all of them).

But one kind of mistake that does live forever is an editing error in a movie or TV show.

Even if you fix a flub retroactively, once the screenshots are taken, that's that — they're online for good.

Here are some such editing fails that the show-makers will never quite live down:

1. Julia Roberts' croissant that magically transforms into a pancake in Pretty Woman

I guess it's possible that in the five or so seconds the camera is on Richard Gere between these two frames Julia's character could have decided she was done with the croissant, tossed it aside, and grabbed a pancake, but it seems more likely they decided to use two different takes and someone didn't notice she was eating two completely different breakfast foods.

2. Cher's magically reappearing side mirror in Clueless

Moments after side-swiping a parked car so hard the mirror comes off, Cher pulls her jeep over to the side of the road — where the mirror has reappeared.

3. This rip in the space-time continuum in The Simpsons

In Season 6, during a flashback episode where Marge is pregnant with Maggie, you can see a photo of Maggie on the wall behind the couch. A Simpsons EP noticed the error a few years ago.

4. Dorothy's missing ruby red slippers in The Wizard of Oz

While she and the Scarecrow are being pelted with apples by the apple trees, you can see Judy Garland has on a pair of black lace-up shoes.

5. In an episode of Friends, there's a moment where we see Jennifer Aniston's stand-in.

6. And in another episode of Friends, we get a glimpse of Courteney Cox's stand-in.

7. The advanced technology in Gladiator

During the chariot scene, when one of the chariots overturns you can see a gas canister strapped to the bottom of it.

8. And this time traveler in Gladiator

When Russell Crowe delivers his big "Are you not entertained?" line, you can see a crew member in jeans and a T-shirt in the crowd.

9. These modern-day road markings in Bridgerton

An eagle-eyed Twitter user and history buff noticed the mistake, and it turns out these lines weren't used until the 1950s — over 130 years after Bridgerton takes place.

10. This wayward crew member in Malcolm in the Middle

In this scene, you can see a crew member ducking out of the frame after handing Jane Kaczmarek a shirt from a bucket.

11. This surprise car in Braveheart

Just as the first battle is getting underway, in the corner of the screen there's a white car seen chilling in the background.

12. The blink-and-you'll-miss-it water bottle in the Game of Thrones series finale

Looks like someone was taking sips of water in-between takes and forgot to move their water bottle three inches farther to their right...

13. And of course, the Starbucks cup in Game of Thrones

I don't know what was happening in the Game of Thrones editing room during the final season but there must've been something in the water (or coffee).

14. The un-CGI'd hands in Cats

In the first showings of Cats, viewers noticed something odd about some of the cats' hands — specifically that the CGI hadn't seemed to quite reach them. There was even a point where you could see Dame Judi Dench's wedding ring.

15. This haunted paperwork handing itself to Janet in The Good Place

In the sixth episode of Season 1, there's a quick shot of someone handing D'Arcy Carden a stack of papers that is supposed to have materialized out of thin air, courtesy of Janet.
