These Illustrators Have Been Turning BuzzFeed Articles Into Art, And Here Are Some of My Favourites

I can't even draw a stick figure, let alone Kylie Jenner.

The 2021 World Illustration Championships took place last month, where artists from all over the world came to compete head to head, using BuzzFeed articles as their design briefs. At the end of the 3 days, we had our winners: Hatch in the classic tournament, and 2020 reigning Champ, Alex Solis, in digital.

Each illustration was SO impressive, and seeing BuzzFeed headlines come to life in front of my eyes was just insane! Here are just a few of my favourite interpretations from the competition:

    1. This Is What Happened When A Brit And An Aussie Compared Cultures

    2. Flight Attendants Tell Us The Wildest Things They’ve Had To Deal With

    3. Trump Gave Rioters Language To Defend The Insurrection And Deny Reality

    4. Kylie Jenner Accused Of Exploiting The Pandemic For Profit By Releasing A Hand Sanitiser

    5. Tom Cruise's Daughter Bella Shares A Glimpse Of Her London Life

    6. Wimbledon Standing Ovation For Woman Who Helped Develop COVID Vaccine

    7. Here's What The Grim Reality Of Climate Change Looked Like In 2020

    8. World’s Richest Man Straps Himself To Highly Explosive Can & Launches Into Space

    9. Mila Kunis Regrets Making Ashton Kutcher Sell $200K Ticket To Space Because She Was "Hormonal"

    10. Prosecutors say an Alleged US Capitol Rioter Came Disguised As A Journalist

    11. Tom Daley Was Spotted Knitting At The Olympics And It's Because He Was Making A Pouch For His Medal

Every artist that competed is insanely talented and I can't wait to see where they go from here! Be sure to check out the Illustrated World Series website for more information on future events.
