Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation, Neutrogena Hydro Boost moisturizer, a winged eyeliner stamp, and seven other dope products tried, tested, and loved by BuzzFeed editors!
"Nearly 15 years after Accutane dramatically improved my acne woes, I still have lots of skin issues. But that’s life! Redness, sensitivity, and oiliness tend to be my three biggest problems. So when an impromptu trip to Sephora by my office left me walking by the Sephora Collection masks display, this little green clay mask whose packaging says it “purifies and minimizes pores” hollered at me.
Laziness in the past year has made me stick with mostly sheet masks, which are better at making my skin feel smooth and moisturized than calming the visible effects of irritation. (The only mask I’ve recently been willing to wash off my face is this Origins charcoal one that’s an OG fave.) Back to this lil’ green monster, the pouch says it has four uses in it but, TBH, I think it’s closer to five or six for me. The green concoction goes on smoothly and has a teeny bit of grit that lightly scrubs your face when you remove it. I can tell my complexion looks less red afterward and it definitely has that AHHHH effect. If Sephora sold this in a Criscolike tub I’d buy that shit ASAP." —Elizabeth Lilly

"My lips can be as dry as the Sahara desert, so it’s important that I apply a thick, moisturizing product on ‘em before I go to sleep. My regular ChapStick usually doesn’t work quite as well when I use it before bedtime. Potential solution? I wanted to try out a lip oil and see if that worked any better. AND IT DID! Let’s get a round of applause for this appleberry lip oil from Nooni! My once-chapped lips will forever be in your debt.
First and foremost, I really love that the consistency of this lip oil isn’t sticky — my lips don’t feel like I just slathered it in the Lip Smackers lip gloss I wore in the eighth grade. The product instantly sinks into my skin and gives a subtle, soothing shine. And so my nighttime routine goes as follows: cleanse, tone, moisturizer, apply this lip oil. By the time I wake up in the morning, my lips feel super moisturized, and not OMG-I-am-dying-I’m-so-dry like they usually do. AND! This lip oil gets rid of dead skin, so my lips actually appear fuller in the a.m. (which heaven knows that I need). Plus, the packaging is small enough so you can easily fit it into your bag and reapply throughout the day!
I particularly like the pink-tinted product because it gives my pout a nice flush of color, but the clear oil works equally as well. PLUS! These bad boys have a gorgeous, subtle scent you would probably want to bathe in. I’M IN LOVE, I’M IN LOVE, AND I DON’T CARE WHO KNOWS IT." —AnaMaria Glavan

"This is such a fun little lippie! Not only is it an adorable heart shape, it also SMELLS delicious. It smells like SweeTarts, and as someone who is secretly a sugar-crazed child with a credit card, I am absolutely here for it. Seriously, it's hard not to just take a bite out of it every time I take it out. Speaking of taking it out, I do so all the time, so everyone can admire this work of art. Like all of Winky Lux's lipsticks, it's housed in a pill capsule–shaped tube. Inside, the lipstick is two-toned and heart-shaped.
While it's called a lipstick in the description, I'd honestly call it more of a lip tint or gloss. The color is sheer, and the red one ("Kiss Me") is more hot pink than red. Despite the appearance, it goes on evenly in one solid color. I'm a big fan of wearing this on days that I want to swipe on some color and forget about it. The pink tint lasts a long time (I legit brushed my teeth with it on) but it's sheer enough to not get on my teeth or all over my face (like after brushing my teeth). If you're trying to add some kitschy fun to your look, this is a great option." —Rebecca O'Connell

"I wage a daily war against my skin, wherein my face tries its damnedest to be as dry as possible and I try my damnedest to not let it win. My typical weapons of choice are intense moisturizers and oils, but I recently added the incredible Fresh Rose Face Mask into my arsenal after claiming it as a sample with my last Sephora purchase — and let me tell you, I think I can finally spot the end of the battle on the horizon. I dabble in the face-mask world, but have never used one with such noticeable and immediate effects, namely: visibly hydrated skin; an even, smooth texture; and tightened pores on my otherwise strawberry-resembling nose. (Apparently, others have as well, as evidenced by its 1,000+ five-star reviews.)
Fair warning: You may initially be freaked out by the texture of this gel mask, which can best be described as gelatinous, with pieces of real rose petals floating about. (An average of two and a half roses per container, to be exact!) But fear not! This mask is nothing short of amazing, and I love that it's gentle enough to use every day. I prefer using it in the morning, because it has a cooling sensation upon application that makes me feel awake, both due to its texture and, perhaps, the aloe vera and cucumber extract it's formulated with. It's also made with a "smart" (?) algae, intended to provide those moisturizing effects I have experienced firsthand, and rosewater that's meant to soothe the skin.
Sure, this product may be a bigger splurge than a drugstore-variety mask, but by golly, has it been worth it for me, and if you're constantly fighting dry, flaky skin, you might feel the same. The score as of late? Dry skin: 0, Fresh Rose Face Mask: 1. And an added bonus, you will also feel like a very fancy person with a skin care regimen that includes actual roses. Look at you!" —Emmy Favilla

"It doesn’t happen too often, but once in a while I give into trying out 'buzzy' products the internet can’t seem to shut up about. That’s the case with Glow Recipe’s Watermelon Sleeping Mask (at one point there was a 5,000-person waitlist! WHAT?) and now their new Watermelon Pink Juice Moisturizer — and let me tell you, I’M IN LOVE.
Usually smell isn’t the foremost reason why I love a product (unless it’s literally a perfume, lol) but like, this smell is SPOT-ON for my favorite childhood and current favorite fruit candy, Watermelon Jolly Ranchers. I also love nomming on actual watermelon slices, so when I found out watermelon extract soothes skin irritation (hello, red cheeks!) and delivers essential ingredients, my love increased tenfold. You have no idea how calming it is to inhale this fruity scent after a long-ass day, all the while knowing that you're about 2.5 seconds away from bed. There's no better feeling than finishing the last step of a tedious skin care routine!
But enough about the smell — the mask and moisturizer FEEL just as good, if not better. I can best describe their textures as bouncy and all around fucking delightful. It's slightly solid, but not quite. Jellylike, but not as hard to work with. (We're back to food again, sorry not sorry.) It has a slight tackiness, but not the annoying or heavy kind. It quickly sinks in once you've rubbed it in between your hands and started dispersing it all over your face. I love using the moisturizer in the morning for a lighter, goes-under-my-makeup-smoothly hydrator and the intensive sleeping mask at night (s/o to the AHAs in the latter, which gently exfoliate while I snooze). Even if you don't buy it, JUST TRY SMELLING IT. I'll even offer up my own! Seriously, just ask me." —Sarah Han

"When I say I am horrible at applying makeup, I am actually being quite generous. Despite countless hours of YouTube tutorials, spending hundreds of dollars on tools, products, or whatever the internet tells me to buy, and carefully listening to my friends explain to me how they manage not to look like a four-year-old colored all over their faces — I am 100% useless at makeup. I’ve accepted this fact, and have decided to do whatever the f#@% makes me happy. And these C’est Moi makeup crayons do just that! They let me experiment with color without being complicated, expensive, or overwhelming.
They’re so easy to glide on, they stay put (I have really greasy eyelids, so I use a primer), and they come in SO MANY awesome colors (like 14!!). I can do just a line, or fill in my whole lid. I can get wild without the need to blend or brush or whatever the hell you’re supposed to do with powder shadows. I really love these! It also doesn’t hurt that they’re super affordable!" —Elena Garcia

"After doing tons of research on the best moisturizers, I kept coming across Neutrogena's Hydro Boost gel-cream. It's only $15 — which is significantly cheaper than other skin care products I've used — so I figured it would be worth a try. SPOILER: It's a godsend. I actually use it twice a day: once at night after washing my face, and in the morning before applying my makeup. No lie, the results are immediate. My matte foundation goes on smoother than ever, and there are ZERO skin flakes!!!
I typically get dry patches of skin on my forehead and nose year-round, but if I am diligent about applying this gel-cream, they go away rather quickly. It also makes my face look bright and glow-y, and I feel radiant on the days when I'm secretly dead-exhausted. And because I tend to deal with dry skin throughout the entire year — even in the summer — I plan to keep this in my regimen. Another thing I love about it is how a little goes a loooong way. It's a lightweight gel, so a small dollop can cover my entire face and I don't feel like I just caked on a heavy lotion. I truly can't recommend this product enough. It's time to finally say g'bye to dry, flaky skin." —Kayla Suazo
