someone using the small, handheld knife sharpener
    Amazon

Promising review: "I gotta say this is the best sharpener I ever bought in my whole life. I got it today and brought it to work. I work at a Japanese restaurant as a sushi chef and I sharpened it at work and, wow, my knife was as sharp as a samurai sword! Even my coworkers were surprised and asked me to order one for them. Thanks for the product ! Now I don't have to use the stone or sharpen rod that much anymore." —Rodrigo

    2. A milk frother that'll transform your hot chocolate into one out of a Hallmark Christmas movie scene. Delish.

    amazon.com, Amazon

Promising review: "I’m a barista at Starbucks so obviously I know how I like my coffee. For a while I was using an immersion blender to froth my milk for my morning cup of coffee but it just wasn’t doing what I wanted it to do. I finally bought this frothed and I’m so so happy with it!! It doesn’t need to be plugged in so it takes up way less space. It is a lot quieter than the blender, and I can use any size cup I want because the frother is so small. Not only can I heat up my milk for a hot coffee, but I can also use it just the same with cold milk for my iced coffee!! Highly recommend this product!!" —Heather Michael

Get it from Amazon for $14.95 (available in 17 colors).

    3. A set of produce-saving containers that'll prevent your fruits 'n' veggies from spoiling quickly and *therefore* prevent *you* from wasting produce! Win-win.

    Natalie Brown / BuzzFeed

My colleague Natalie Brown is a big fan of these. Here's what she has to say:

"On March 5, I put half of my fresh strawberries in the medium-sized container and left the other half in the clamshell container they came in from the store. And here they are 10 days later, on March 15 (see above images)!!! The berry I left in the original container's dehydrated and blemished, with wrinkled, crunchy leaves. (I'm not eating the leaves, but still.) But the produce-saver strawb's as fresh as it was on day one! Not that I wouldn't eat the dehydrated one, if that was my only option, but given the choice? I'll take a fresh strawberry every day!"

Get it from Amazon for $12.53+ (available in five sizes and in sets of two, three, and four).

    4. A rustic wooden stand to hold your cook book or tablet so you'll be able to follow along with any recipe hands-free.

the wooden cookbook holder that is somewhat shaped like a cutting board
    Amazon

Promising review "This cutting board style wood cookbook and iPad stand holder is very nice! I like the style and the convenience of having it in the kitchen. It doesn't take up too much counter space and works very well for my cookbook." —Jynnifer

Get it from Amazon for $27.50 (available in two styles).

a green clip on strainer attached to a pot of pasta
    Amazon

Promising review: "Why didn't I discover this earlier??? I am not a fan of cooking, really, but I have to with a family of five. This helps cut down on a mundane process. You know you're an adult when...you get excited about kitchen gadgets. There are reviews that say it won't fit over pots or pans with 'lips' but I've used it just fine with those types. You have to just really wiggle it in there slowly. It's snug, but you want that! Otherwise, you'll end up with a mess if it fits easily, because that means that it will slide out easily also." —Jade Fox

Get it from Amazon for $16.99 (available in three colors).

    6. A BBQ tool that'll act as a spatula, tongs, and brush all in one! No more fumbling around for the right grill gadget while your burgers are ready to be flipped.

a model using the bbq gadget
    The Grommet

Promising review: "Bought it for my son in law for Christmas, a grill master! Loved not burning his wrist on the big grill, and can pick up all large cuts of meat and small pieces of vegetable without a problem. Very well-made. Extremely pleased with this purchase!" —Joyce

Get it from The Grommet for $16.95+ (available in 15, 18, or 21 inches).

    7. A kitchen gadget you can use to dice onions in a flash — save your uncontrollable crying for the next time you watch The Notebook.

    Amazon, amazon.com

Promising review: "I use it regularly to chop many different kinds of vegetables, including onions, celery, mushrooms, and carrots. Works well for apples too. I find that it is a terrific time-saver. It admittedly can be slightly challenging getting all the food pieces out of the chopper parts, but the nylon bristle brush that comes with it makes it a relatively easy job. I have used my chopper almost daily for several weeks now. I am actually finding that I’m more eager to cook since getting this thing." —Owen Knowles

Get it from Amazon for $22.67.

    8. A set of LED light saber chopsticks you'll probably misplace in your utensil drawer but then have the opportunity to exclaim "THESE are the ones I've been looking for!" once you finally find them.

    amazon.com, Emma Lord / BuzzFeed

Promising review: "I purchased these for a friend's birthday present (he is a sushi waiter) and these are flippin' AMAZING. I ordered two sets by mistake, but I am totally keeping the second pair for another gift (or for myself!). These are sure to be great conversation pieces and attention-getters. Way to go!" —T. Redwood

    9. A pack of oven liners to protect the bottom of your oven from any overflow/oozing and let you continue on pretending you're competing on The Great British Baking Show worry-free.

an apple pie inside the oven that has dripped liquid onto a mat below it
    Amazon

Promising review: "I expected to be happy, but I'm thrilled! Each mat is pliable and fits the entire width of my standard oven. When the mat is against the back wall, it extends up to but not over the front lip of the floor. On first use, pizza cheese and sauce dripped onto the front edge of the mat and onto that uncovered lip. The baked-on cheese and sauce slid right off the mat! Effortlessly! After I cleaned up the lip, I layered a second mat to cover the lip. These mats are so great that I almost want food to drip on them so I can show off how wonderful they are." —Artset Outset

Get a pack of three from Amazon for $13.99.

    10. Or fume-free oven cleaner that'll help you clean up the mess you've inevitably made if you don't own the previously mentioned oven liners.

    amazon.com

Promising review: "Simply UNBELIEVEABLE. Fume-free and no gloves needed, but dissolves ANYTHING cooked on! Had not cleaned oven EVER. Simply sprayed on, shut door overnight, and wiped off with paper towels. Do not have to dread cleaning oven ever again! Can use for everyday spot cleaning with only having to let sit for couple hours for minor things. Used on broiler pan that would not scrub clean with even steel wool, no need to scrub ever again now! Crockpot leaked over bowl and burned on inside heating chamber; just sprayed, covered, wiped in morning. Plan on using to clean grill in spring and am sure it will make it a breeze." —Andrew J.

Get it from Amazon for $6.44.

    11. A mug warmer, because even if you're the self-proclaimed "busiest person on the planet" you deserve to have hot coffee.

    amazon.com

We've all been there — making our coffee or tea only to set it down and forget about until it's cooled down completely. Thanks to this mug warmer none of us ever have to suffer through another cold cup of caffeine again! It has received over 4K five-star reviews on Amazon, so you know it's a big freakin' deal.

Promising review: "I'm a chronic coffee forgetter. I can't drink it straight from the brewer (too hot for me) so I set my mug down to cool slightly and often get distracted. Of course I then come back to my coffee to find it's already cold. I've currently got the warmer at my office and it's working great. I can sip my coffee leisurely over the course of an hour and it's still nice and warm." —Elle

Get it from Amazon for $8.99

    12. Or a HyperChiller to cool your favorite drink in less than a minute. A must-have if you're like me and prefer to drink iced coffee all year. Yes, that includes when it's 25 degrees out in the middle of January.

    Amazon, amazon.com

Promising review: "For those not fully familiar with how it works, what it's accomplishing is trying to surround your liquid with as much ice-behind-metal as possible. So, it has a center chamber of ice behind the metal, then an outer chamber of ice. The inner chamber fits inside the outer with about a cup's worth of space that's between the inner and outer chamber. This exposes your liquid to the greatest surface area of super-cold metal that they can, and since your liquid is only touching metal, and not the ice itself, it doesn't matter the temperature of the liquid poured in. You can pour in boiling water and while it may end up melting a bunch of the ice behind the metal, none of that water will mix with your drink. So, whether you're chilling a wine, dropping hot coffee to cool it off, or just wanting to rapidly drop the temp of that fresh lemonade you made without making it watery, this will get that done." —P. Ericksen

Get it from Amazon for $24.99.

    13. A pack of super-strong magnets you can attach to the top of your fridge to ensure your drink of choice is *always* refreshingly cold without taking up space for leftovers.

    kickstarter.com

Promising review: "Of all the things I have bought that I didn't need, this is one of my favorites. Beer is hard to get out of the cardboard carrier in the top of my fridge. While just taking them out and sitting them on the shelf would have solved this problem as well. This solution is more fun. They float and technically it does make a tiny bit of extra space under the beer for small things like cheese or something." —AbbyValentine

Get a set of two strips (six magnets) from Amazon for $29.99.

    14. A Mickey waffle maker so you can recreate the classic Parks staple and chow down while planning your next magical vacation.

    Amazon, amazon.com

Promising review: "Works great. You can only make one little waffle at a time but it only takes a minute or two per waffle. Worth it if you have Mickey fans in your house!" –CM

Get it from Amazon for $14.99.

    15. An automatic pan-stirrer with a timer, great for any aspiring chef who tends to get a little absent-minded while following a recipe. Take THAT, Gordon Ramsay.

the three-armed stirrer in a pan
    UncommonGoods

Promising review: "My husband loves to cook. We have two very small children, so while his meals are mostly yummy, they are also sometimes burnt. :) This was perfect for him. He's able to turn it on, run into the next room to save the day with a plastic bag and a washcloth for whatever blowout-esque mess I'm dealing with, forget he's cooking, run back into the kitchen frantically when he remembers, and arrive only to find the meal practically cooking itself. Best. Gift. Ever." —Jake the ChefturnedDaddy

Get it from UncommonGoods for $25.

    16. A stainless-steel cleaner that'll make your appliances so shiny you won't be able to stop staring at your own reflection in them (spoiler: you look GOOD!).

a model cleaning their microwave with the product
    Amazon

This plant-based cleaner will remove streaks, smudges, and fingerprints from all stainless steel surfaces — sounds very therapeutic to me!

Promising review: "THIS Therapy Premium Stainless Steel Cleaner is AMAZING. New dishwasher and and a hungry dog are NOT compatible! Our small dog, 12 pounds, had a habit of stretching up her front paws and scratching her nails on the dishwasher while her food was prepared. Not even days had gone by and the new dishwasher had little thin claw scratches all down the front. I had stopped her by placing a footstool to block her, but other family members had not, despite my instructions. I tried several cleaners and had resigned to having a scratched appliance. But ONE try with the Therapy cleaner — yes, a *miracle*. The scratches cannot be seen at all — polished right out of sight. The dishwasher looks even better than when fresh out of the box — it is gleaming. I eagerly shared the success with my kitchen remodeler, who installs many appliances, and I hope others can restore their stainless products. Try it!" —L. Peterson

Get it from Amazon for $16.97.

    17. A breakfast sandwich maker for those rainy Sunday mornings where all you want is a cure to your hangover but can't physically venture further than your kitchen.

    Amazon, amazon.com

Promising review: "FAM. I need you to lissssssen. I would give this product 87 stars if I could. You'd think it would be one of those gimmicky kitchen appliances that barely even works. EXCEPT you're wrong. It's amazing. It's quick. Look. Lissssten. You put the ingredients in and about two minutes later your tummy is all like 'oh yesssss.' Basically. Just buy it. Purchase the sammich maker. You're welcome." —Amazon Customer

Get it from Amazon for $28.47.

    18. Breville the Barista Express Espresso Machine, because why venture out for an overpriced beverage when you can whip one up at home at any time???

    Yi Yang / BuzzFeed

Promising review: "This stainless-steel beaut is the single most expensive appliance in my entire home and lemme tell ya — it's worth every penny! I had it on my wish list for *many* years before finally investing in one and I've used it literally every day for three years. It's still running like new and consistently makes cafe-quality drinks. I used to buy a latte outside every other day (which in NYC, costs around $5 a cup — big yikes) but I've cut that down to maybe once a week (at most) since getting this machine! I think with the money I've saved on lattes, this machine has already paid for itself.

Before this, I tried pretty much every kind of coffee gadget to try to recreate the same taste as my local cafe but just couldn't get it 100% right (including the Nespresso machine, which comes pretty close). What I love most is I can grind the beans, extract the espresso, and froth the milk all in one place — you really don't need to purchase any other accessories to go with it (other than water filters and cleaning tablets). And all three of these components work really well, almost at the level of a professional machine, especially the milk frother which produces super fine bubbles that make latte art possible.

It's also great to be able to choose the beans I want — so I can still support local coffee roasters — instead of having to purchase capsules. Bottom line — the coffee is darn good. If you mostly drink cold brew, pour-overs, or drip coffee, then this machine is probably unnecessary. If you love espresso-based drinks and are somewhat of a coffee perfectionist, I'd highly recommend the Breville Barista Express. It's a splurge but will likely last you for many years to come." —Yi Yang, BuzzFeed Editor

Get it from Amazon for $699.99

    19. A SinkShroom strainer you won't know how you lived without because it'll keep your kitchen sink unclogged no matter how much gunk you fill it with.

    Heather Braga / BuzzFeed, Amazon

I bought this for myself (since I'm clearly a REAL adult) and OMG. This thing REALLY works. Usually when my husband makes sauce from scratch I'm left with chunks of tomatoes throughout my sink and water that WILL NOT drain — that was until I bought the SinkShroom. My mom was so impressed she bought one, too. It's a serious game-changer.

Promising review: "I’ve been a fan of the SinkShroom and TubShroom, and this is the best product from the line so far. My kitchen sinks simply do not clog any more, so there’s no more reaching into a bunch of water to unclog anything with my hand." —Brady Amerson

Get it from Amazon for $12.99.

    20. A sheet pan with individual wells that'll help you live out your dreams of making personalized brownies and miniature lasagnas.

    Pampered Chef

Promising review: "Bought this brownie for many different uses, but have used it only for banana bread, in the first month. We always fight our loaves of banana bread to get them baked in the center, without burning the outside. This pan is PERFECT!!! One banana bread recipe fills the 12 spaces just right. We love having 12 baby loaves that are baked perfectly, with lots of good edges. Can't wait to try some other foods in this fabulous pan." —Grammy of four

Get it from Pampered Chef for $25.

    21. A tea bag organizer you can use to free-up some space in your already-crowded kitchen cabinets.

a reviewer's teas all organized in the container
    amazon.com

It fits up to 100 standard-sized tea bags!

Promising review: "Bought this on a whim because I thought it would be a great way to clean up the leaning tower of tea boxes that was forming both in the pantry and on the counter. This did just that!!! I had no issues getting any of my tea bags in, sure I was able to fit more of one kind than another but no issues. All of my teas are now neatly displayed and its nice to see everything you have right there instead of searching through a pile of boxes. Nice and sturdy construction. I was worried it would be flimsy and cheap, but it is not. If you are an avid tea drinker with a plethora of teas to choose from, this is handy!" —Cherish Carter

Get it from Amazon for $24.99.

    amazon.com

Promising review: "Worked very well! We’ve lived in our home a while, and small remedies haven’t done much to help clean the dishwasher. I finally decided to give a cleaner a try, and this one worked exceptionally well. The pics (seen above) are after one use of two packs (as per instructions for a particularly dirty washer). I definitely will be getting more when I run out to help maintain a cleaner dishwasher!" —chocobeanie

Get it from Amazon for $5.69.

    25. A robot vacuum to clean your kitchen for you when you accidentally empty half a bag of flour onto the floor instead of the mixing bowl.

Bed Bath and Beyond, Paul Braga

I recently got the Neato Botvac D7 and it has become a treasured possession for me and my husband. I don't know if it's just because we're home *all* the time or because we love it that much but we definitely treat it like our pet. You're instructed to give the vacuum a name (ours is Kevin) and can then set it to clean on specific days/times. It's super efficient and has done a great job cleaning hard-to-reach spots — and it'll send a notification to your phone if it gets stuck (see above). Good boy, Kevin.

Get it from Amazon for $599.99 or Bed Bath & Beyond for $549.99.

    26. A bottle of Truff truffle-infused hot sauce you'll probably want to start planning your meals around — it's THAT good.

    BuzzFeed / Hannah Loewentheil

BuzzFeed Writer Hannah Loewentheil is a biiiiiig fan of this delicious sauce:

"There's one ingredient that makes even my most average home cooking taste amazing, and it's this TRUFF truffle-infused hot sauce. I first heard about TRUFF on a list of Oprah's favorite things, and I knew she would never lead me astray. So I quickly realized I needed TRUFF in my own kitchen.

There are three kids of TRUFF hot sauces: the classic black truffle sauce, a 'hotter' sauce, and the crown jewel, the creme de la creme, a white truffle hot sauce. Look, the white truffle-infused hot sauce quite literally tastes like heaven, but IMO, the classic black truffle hot sauce is the most versatile and a staple in my kitchen. And while at first $20+ seemed like an absurd price to pay for hot sauce, this stuff is worth the price tag. I mean...truffles. And here's the thing: I've tried plenty of truffle-infused hot sauces, olive oils, and what-nots in the past, but they often taste overpowering or low-quality. TRUFF hot sauces are the perfect balance of decadent truffle, heat, spice, and a tiny bit of sweetness. Now I'm completely and most likely irrevocably hooked to this liquid gold. I slather it on pretty much everything savory from eggs and tacos to sandwiches and fried rice. If you're looking for a way to add flavor to your home cooking or turn basic meals into pure extravagance, you should probably invest in a bottle of TRUFF."

Get Truff from Amazon: the black truffle hot sauce for $17.98, the "hotter" sauce for $17.98, and the white truffle hot sauce for $34.99.

    27. A tortilla press that'll help you take your Taco Tuesdays to the next level without going above and beyond your minimal cooking skill level.

    Heather Braga / BuzzFeed

Like many of you, I've been trying all kinds of new things while spending time social distancing over the last few weeks. My latest challenge? Making my own corn tortillas. Except, thanks to a handy lil' tortilla press from Verve Culture, it wasn't much of a challenge at all. The press is made in Mexico from old Singer sewing machines and other recycled irons! The cast-iron should last you, basically, forever so it's definitely worth your money. I still can't believe how easy they were to make! We used Maseca's corn flour (the bag has instructions on the back how to make the tortillas) and it was so simple. They came out *so* well I was beyond impressed with myself.

Check out my full review of this awesome tortilla press!

Get it from Verve Culture or Amazon for $45.

    28. A garbage-disposal foaming cleaner to scrub away the stinky grime that builds up on the blades and in the pipes.

    Amazon, amazon.com

    Look at that foam go!

Promising review: "It seems counterintuitive to put a little packet down your garbage disposal to clean it, but this does actually seem to work, at least for getting out weird smells that baking soda and vinegar don't really touch. I scrub the sink down first, especially around the garbage disposal area, rinse it down, and then just follow the directions on the package. I have used it with single, large-size sinks and with double sinks — only difference is that the double sink will have blue cleaning foam rise up the drain, which you rinse away when the disposal sounds clear again. I have tried the foaming cleaner in a can, but unfortunately it stopped coming out of the can about 10% of the way through. Went back to this tried-and-true." —KS

Get it from Amazon for $6.82.

    29. An ironic garlic chopper inspired by Dracula to make you smile and prevent your fingers from smelling like pungent garlic all day.

a tiny garlic chopper designed to look like a black and white vampire
    Amazon

You can also use it to chop nuts, fruits, and veggies!

Promising review: "I purchased this as a gift for my friend who is a fantastic cook — she uses fresh ingredients almost exclusively — but pressing fresh garlic is a task usually delegated. No longer — Gracula is there for her. She uses him nearly every time she needs garlic (which is basically daily) and months later still makes a point of saying how much she enjoys the gift. I'm pretty sure she likes it better than other gifts I've gotten her which were more expensive/thought out, and I'm fairly certain it's what took me from 'good friend' to 'best friend,' but it be that way sometimes. Anyway, definitely recommended for people who cook with garlic and have a sense of humor." —L

Get it from Amazon for $17.20.

    30. A cutting board and strainer combo, because who wouldn't appreciate a two-in-one item that'll save 'em room in their kitchen?

a white cutting board with red accents and a strainer set on one side of it to place over the sink for drainage
    Amazon

Promising review: "This is one of my favorite things I have purchased for our tiny apartment! It's a pretty good size cutting board and I can see it fitting over most sinks. I LOVE the bowl inside that can let wet ingredients drain liquid directly into the sink. It's seriously SO nice to have this when you're limited on counter space!" —Atara

Get it from Amazon for $19.99 (available in two colors).

    31. A handheld soap-dispensing brush that might just make you want to clean your dishes — it looks kinda fun, doesn't it?

    oxo / Via instagram.com, amazon.com

Promising review: "I'm loving this little brush. I had purchased another dish brush a while back from the grocery store and the bristles were so stiff that it often splattered soap everywhere. This one isn't like that. The bristles are stiff, but soft enough that they tend to cling to what you're brushing, so they don't cause that splatter effect. I also like that you can open the whole thing up by taking its top off to refill it, giving you plenty of room to pour in the dish soap. The ability to easily remove and replace the brush is another very handy feature. Both are easy to do and it's well-made, so they're not likely to come open or undone unexpectedly." —Elliria

Get it from Amazon for $6.99.

    32. A cookie scoop, so all of your precious balls of dough will come out *exactly* the same size and look simply stunning before you gobble 'em up.

a reviewer photo of cookie dough balls neatly arranged and the same size behind the cookie scoop
    amazon.com

I have one of these and it has been a game-changer when making cookies. I love that each one comes out the same size, making it easier than ever to know precisely how many will fit on my baking sheet.

Promising review: "Why didn't I have one of these in my kitchen drawer before?! I bought the medium sized scoop originally to make a large batch of cookies for Christmas but today it came handy when I had leftover batter from my banana bread recipe and it made the perfect scoop to fill a regular sized cupcake liner! Now I'm thinking about getting the small size for my mini-cupcakes! Super easy and they came out perfectly uniform and totally beats trying to use a spoon! Handles have a nice silicone grip too and help with hand fatigue. :-)" —Michi K

    33. A brown sugar bear that is as cute as it is functional and'll keep your sugar from getting hard as a rock over time.

the bear laying on top of brown sugar
    amazon.com

Promising review: "After multiple containers for my brown sugar and continuously throwing my brown sugar away due to giant hard lumps, I began to wonder why our brown sugar never lumped as a child. That's when I remembered a weird brown bear in our sugar, After a quick Google search I found this! I soaked it in water for 30 minutes and then added to my lumpy brown sugar...two days later there is not a single lump in my sugar! Yay!" —Sneezeloaf

    35. Shredder claws so you won't have to suffer from burnt fingertips while trying to finally get a smidge closer to flawlessly replicating your grandma's famous pulled pork recipe.

a reviewer using the claws to shred chicken
    amazon.com

Promising review: "Works well for shredding larger portions of meat, like pork. Plastic appears to be of higher quality. Sufficient room in the opening for most finger and hand sizes. The pointed tips shouldn't cause injury unless you're careless. I'd highly recommend the use of quality protective gloves; you're not only dealing with the mess of shredding itself but also, most likely, some elevated temperature food." —Legardi11

I have one of these babies and absolutely love it. Yes, it's essentially just a toaster. But! It brings such a nice aesthetic and really adds a fun pop of color to the kitchen.

Promising review: "This toaster meets two criteria I have: 1). The functionality is excellent and 2). It is retro & awesome looking. I put bagels in there and they fit perfectly. It toasts the bread really well and even left pretty toaster marks. I'm pleased with this purchase. It's worth the extra money. The mint green color is gorgeous!" —T. Parvin
