From a lil' knife sharpener to a self-opening trash can, prepare to be amazed by these must-have kitchen products.
My colleague Natalie Brown is a big fan of these. Here's what she has to say:
"On March 5, I put half of my fresh strawberries in the medium-sized container and left the other half in the clamshell container they came in from the store. And here they are 10 days later, on March 15 (see above images)!!! The berry I left in the original container's dehydrated and blemished, with wrinkled, crunchy leaves. (I'm not eating the leaves, but still.) But the produce-saver strawb's as fresh as it was on day one! Not that I wouldn't eat the dehydrated one, if that was my only option, but given the choice? I'll take a fresh strawberry every day!"

Promising review: "Why didn't I discover this earlier??? I am not a fan of cooking, really, but I have to with a family of five. This helps cut down on a mundane process. You know you're an adult when...you get excited about kitchen gadgets. There are reviews that say it won't fit over pots or pans with 'lips' but I've used it just fine with those types. You have to just really wiggle it in there slowly. It's snug, but you want that! Otherwise, you'll end up with a mess if it fits easily, because that means that it will slide out easily also." —Jade Fox

Promising review: "Bought it for my son in law for Christmas, a grill master! Loved not burning his wrist on the big grill, and can pick up all large cuts of meat and small pieces of vegetable without a problem. Very well-made. Extremely pleased with this purchase!" —Joyce

Promising review: "I use it regularly to chop many different kinds of vegetables, including onions, celery, mushrooms, and carrots. Works well for apples too. I find that it is a terrific time-saver. It admittedly can be slightly challenging getting all the food pieces out of the chopper parts, but the nylon bristle brush that comes with it makes it a relatively easy job. I have used my chopper almost daily for several weeks now. I am actually finding that I’m more eager to cook since getting this thing." —Owen Knowles

Promising review: "I purchased these for a friend's birthday present (he is a sushi waiter) and these are flippin' AMAZING. I ordered two sets by mistake, but I am totally keeping the second pair for another gift (or for myself!). These are sure to be great conversation pieces and attention-getters. Way to go!" —T. Promising review: "I expected to be happy, but I'm thrilled! Each mat is pliable and fits the entire width of my standard oven. When the mat is against the back wall, it extends up to but not over the front lip of the floor. On first use, pizza cheese and sauce dripped onto the front edge of the mat and onto that uncovered lip. The baked-on cheese and sauce slid right off the mat! Effortlessly! After I cleaned up the lip, I layered a second mat to cover the lip. These mats are so great that I almost want food to drip on them so I can show off how wonderful they are." —Artset Outset

Promising review: "Simply UNBELIEVEABLE. Fume-free and no gloves needed, but dissolves ANYTHING cooked on! Had not cleaned oven EVER. Simply sprayed on, shut door overnight, and wiped off with paper towels. Do not have to dread cleaning oven ever again! Can use for everyday spot cleaning with only having to let sit for couple hours for minor things. Used on broiler pan that would not scrub clean with even steel wool, no need to scrub ever again now! Crockpot leaked over bowl and burned on inside heating chamber; just sprayed, covered, wiped in morning. Plan on using to clean grill in spring and am sure it will make it a breeze." —Andrew J.

We've all been there — making our coffee or tea only to set it down and forget about until it's cooled down completely. Thanks to this mug warmer none of us ever have to suffer through another cold cup of caffeine again! It has received over 4K five-star reviews on Amazon, so you know it's a big freakin' deal.
Promising review: "I'm a chronic coffee forgetter. I can't drink it straight from the brewer (too hot for me) so I set my mug down to cool slightly and often get distracted. Of course I then come back to my coffee to find it's already cold. I've currently got the warmer at my office and it's working great. I can sip my coffee leisurely over the course of an hour and it's still nice and warm." —Elle

Promising review: "For those not fully familiar with how it works, what it's accomplishing is trying to surround your liquid with as much ice-behind-metal as possible. So, it has a center chamber of ice behind the metal, then an outer chamber of ice. The inner chamber fits inside the outer with about a cup's worth of space that's between the inner and outer chamber. This exposes your liquid to the greatest surface area of super-cold metal that they can, and since your liquid is only touching metal, and not the ice itself, it doesn't matter the temperature of the liquid poured in. You can pour in boiling water and while it may end up melting a bunch of the ice behind the metal, none of that water will mix with your drink. So, whether you're chilling a wine, dropping hot coffee to cool it off, or just wanting to rapidly drop the temp of that fresh lemonade you made without making it watery, this will get that done." —P. Ericksen

Promising review: "Of all the things I have bought that I didn't need, this is one of my favorites. Beer is hard to get out of the cardboard carrier in the top of my fridge. While just taking them out and sitting them on the shelf would have solved this problem as well. This solution is more fun. They float and technically it does make a tiny bit of extra space under the beer for small things like cheese or something." —AbbyValentine

Promising review: "My husband loves to cook. We have two very small children, so while his meals are mostly yummy, they are also sometimes burnt. :) This was perfect for him. He's able to turn it on, run into the next room to save the day with a plastic bag and a washcloth for whatever blowout-esque mess I'm dealing with, forget he's cooking, run back into the kitchen frantically when he remembers, and arrive only to find the meal practically cooking itself. Best. Gift. Ever." —Jake the ChefturnedDaddy

This plant-based cleaner will remove streaks, smudges, and fingerprints from all stainless steel surfaces — sounds very therapeutic to me!
Promising review: "THIS Therapy Premium Stainless Steel Cleaner is AMAZING. New dishwasher and and a hungry dog are NOT compatible! Our small dog, 12 pounds, had a habit of stretching up her front paws and scratching her nails on the dishwasher while her food was prepared. Not even days had gone by and the new dishwasher had little thin claw scratches all down the front. I had stopped her by placing a footstool to block her, but other family members had not, despite my instructions. I tried several cleaners and had resigned to having a scratched appliance. But ONE try with the Therapy cleaner — yes, a *miracle*. The scratches cannot be seen at all — polished right out of sight. The dishwasher looks even better than when fresh out of the box — it is gleaming. I eagerly shared the success with my kitchen remodeler, who installs many appliances, and I hope others can restore their stainless products. Try it!" —L. Peterson

Promising review: "This stainless-steel beaut is the single most expensive appliance in my entire home and lemme tell ya — it's worth every penny! I had it on my wish list for *many* years before finally investing in one and I've used it literally every day for three years. It's still running like new and consistently makes cafe-quality drinks. I used to buy a latte outside every other day (which in NYC, costs around $5 a cup — big yikes) but I've cut that down to maybe once a week (at most) since getting this machine! I think with the money I've saved on lattes, this machine has already paid for itself.
Before this, I tried pretty much every kind of coffee gadget to try to recreate the same taste as my local cafe but just couldn't get it 100% right (including the Nespresso machine, which comes pretty close). What I love most is I can grind the beans, extract the espresso, and froth the milk all in one place — you really don't need to purchase any other accessories to go with it (other than water filters and cleaning tablets). And all three of these components work really well, almost at the level of a professional machine, especially the milk frother which produces super fine bubbles that make latte art possible.
It's also great to be able to choose the beans I want — so I can still support local coffee roasters — instead of having to purchase capsules. Bottom line — the coffee is darn good. If you mostly drink cold brew, pour-overs, or drip coffee, then this machine is probably unnecessary. If you love espresso-based drinks and are somewhat of a coffee perfectionist, I'd highly recommend the Breville Barista Express. It's a splurge but will likely last you for many years to come." —Yi Yang, BuzzFeed Editor

I bought this for myself (since I'm clearly a REAL adult) and OMG. This thing REALLY works. Usually when my husband makes sauce from scratch I'm left with chunks of tomatoes throughout my sink and water that WILL NOT drain — that was until I bought the SinkShroom. My mom was so impressed she bought one, too. It's a serious game-changer.
Promising review: "I’ve been a fan of the SinkShroom and TubShroom, and this is the best product from the line so far. My kitchen sinks simply do not clog any more, so there’s no more reaching into a bunch of water to unclog anything with my hand." —Brady Amerson

Promising review: "Bought this brownie for many different uses, but have used it only for banana bread, in the first month. We always fight our loaves of banana bread to get them baked in the center, without burning the outside. This pan is PERFECT!!! One banana bread recipe fills the 12 spaces just right. We love having 12 baby loaves that are baked perfectly, with lots of good edges. Can't wait to try some other foods in this fabulous pan." —Grammy of four

It fits up to 100 standard-sized tea bags!
Promising review: "Bought this on a whim because I thought it would be a great way to clean up the leaning tower of tea boxes that was forming both in the pantry and on the counter. This did just that!!! I had no issues getting any of my tea bags in, sure I was able to fit more of one kind than another but no issues. All of my teas are now neatly displayed and its nice to see everything you have right there instead of searching through a pile of boxes. Nice and sturdy construction. I was worried it would be flimsy and cheap, but it is not. If you are an avid tea drinker with a plethora of teas to choose from, this is handy!" —Cherish Carter

I finally decided to give a cleaner a try, and this one worked exceptionally well. The pics (seen above) are after one use of two packs (as per instructions for a particularly dirty washer). I definitely will be getting more when I run out to help maintain a cleaner dishwasher!" —chocobeanie

I recently got the Neato Botvac D7 and it has become a treasured possession for me and my husband. I don't know if it's just because we're home *all* the time or because we love it that much but we definitely treat it like our pet. You're instructed to give the vacuum a name (ours is Kevin) and can then set it to clean on specific days/times. It's super efficient and has done a great job cleaning hard-to-reach spots — and it'll send a notification to your phone if it gets stuck (see above). Good boy, Kevin.

BuzzFeed Writer Hannah Loewentheil is a biiiiiig fan of this delicious sauce:
"There's one ingredient that makes even my most average home cooking taste amazing, and it's this TRUFF truffle-infused hot sauce. I first heard about TRUFF on a list of Oprah's favorite things, and I knew she would never lead me astray. So I quickly realized I needed TRUFF in my own kitchen.
There are three kids of TRUFF hot sauces: the classic black truffle sauce, a 'hotter' sauce, and the crown jewel, the creme de la creme, a white truffle hot sauce. Look, the white truffle-infused hot sauce quite literally tastes like heaven, but IMO, the classic black truffle hot sauce is the most versatile and a staple in my kitchen. And while at first $20+ seemed like an absurd price to pay for hot sauce, this stuff is worth the price tag. I mean...truffles. And here's the thing: I've tried plenty of truffle-infused hot sauces, olive oils, and what-nots in the past, but they often taste overpowering or low-quality. TRUFF hot sauces are the perfect balance of decadent truffle, heat, spice, and a tiny bit of sweetness. Now I'm completely and most likely irrevocably hooked to this liquid gold. I slather it on pretty much everything savory from eggs and tacos to sandwiches and fried rice. If you're looking for a way to add flavor to your home cooking or turn basic meals into pure extravagance, you should probably invest in a bottle of TRUFF."
Get Truff from Amazon: the black truffle hot sauce for $17.98, the "hotter" sauce for $17.98, and the white truffle hot sauce for $34.99.
Like many of you, I've been trying all kinds of new things while spending time social distancing over the last few weeks. My latest challenge? Making my own corn tortillas. Except, thanks to a handy lil' tortilla press from Verve Culture, it wasn't much of a challenge at all. The press is made in Mexico from old Singer sewing machines and other recycled irons! The cast-iron should last you, basically, forever so it's definitely worth your money. I still can't believe how easy they were to make! We used Maseca's corn flour (the bag has instructions on the back how to make the tortillas) and it was so simple. They came out *so* well I was beyond impressed with myself.

Look at that foam go!
Promising review: "It seems counterintuitive to put a little packet down your garbage disposal to clean it, but this does actually seem to work, at least for getting out weird smells that baking soda and vinegar don't really touch. I scrub the sink down first, especially around the garbage disposal area, rinse it down, and then just follow the directions on the package. I have used it with single, large-size sinks and with double sinks — only difference is that the double sink will have blue cleaning foam rise up the drain, which you rinse away when the disposal sounds clear again. I have tried the foaming cleaner in a can, but unfortunately it stopped coming out of the can about 10% of the way through. Went back to this tried-and-true." —KS

You can also use it to chop nuts, fruits, and veggies!
Promising review: "I purchased this as a gift for my friend who is a fantastic cook — she uses fresh ingredients almost exclusively — but pressing fresh garlic is a task usually delegated. No longer — Gracula is there for her. She uses him nearly every time she needs garlic (which is basically daily) and months later still makes a point of saying how much she enjoys the gift. I'm pretty sure she likes it better than other gifts I've gotten her which were more expensive/thought out, and I'm fairly certain it's what took me from 'good friend' to 'best friend,' but it be that way sometimes. Anyway, definitely recommended for people who cook with garlic and have a sense of humor." —L

Promising review: "This is one of my favorite things I have purchased for our tiny apartment! It's a pretty good size cutting board and I can see it fitting over most sinks. Promising review: "I'm loving this little brush. I had purchased another dish brush a while back from the grocery store and the bristles were so stiff that it often splattered soap everywhere. This one isn't like that. The bristles are stiff, but soft enough that they tend to cling to what you're brushing, so they don't cause that splatter effect. I also like that you can open the whole thing up by taking its top off to refill it, giving you plenty of room to pour in the dish soap. The ability to easily remove and replace the brush is another very handy feature. Both are easy to do and it's well-made, so they're not likely to come open or undone unexpectedly." —Elliria

I have one of these and it has been a game-changer when making cookies. I love that each one comes out the same size, making it easier than ever to know precisely how many will fit on my baking sheet.
Promising review: "Why didn't I have one of these in my kitchen drawer before?! I bought the medium sized scoop originally to make a large batch of cookies for Christmas but today it came handy when I had leftover batter from my banana bread recipe and it made the perfect scoop to fill a regular sized cupcake liner! Now I'm thinking about getting the small size for my mini-cupcakes! Super easy and they came out perfectly uniform and totally beats trying to use a spoon! Handles have a nice silicone grip too and help with hand fatigue. :-)" —Michi K

That's when I remembered a weird brown bear in our sugar, After a quick Google search I found this! I soaked it in water for 30 minutes and then added to my lumpy brown sugar...two days later there is not a single lump in my sugar! Yay!" —Sneezeloaf

The pointed tips shouldn't cause injury unless you're careless. I'd highly recommend the use of quality protective gloves; you're not only dealing with the mess of shredding itself but also, most likely, some elevated temperature food." —Legardi11

I have one of these babies and absolutely love it. Yes, it's essentially just a toaster. But! It brings such a nice aesthetic and really adds a fun pop of color to the kitchen.
Promising review: "This toaster meets two criteria I have: 1). The functionality is excellent and 2). It is retro & awesome looking. I put bagels in there and they fit perfectly. It toasts the bread really well and even left pretty toaster marks. I'm pleased with this purchase. It's worth the extra money. The mint green color is gorgeous!" —T. Parvin
