Deb (Jennifer Carpenter)’s reaction to Frank Lundy’s death on Dexter was phenomenal. I haven’t watched the series in years, but that scene still stands out to me.
Don’t come for the golden girls. They included gay, lesbian, Hispanic characters, interracial couples, single parenting, etc., which was surprisingly progressive for the time period. The jokes might not hold up great, but the overall message was acceptance, which I really appreciate.…Â
No one wants to see a newborn baby’s spine broken and watch it be cannibalized, regardless of any point that’s trying to be made. The movie as a whole was already too heavy handed, but that scene overshadowed anything positive I could glean from the film at all.
