I hated the medicine I had to take when I got ear aches as a kid so my mom would secretly put it in the yogurt. When I said my ear hurts, she would tell me to eat yogurt because it fixed ear aches. I truly believed this until I was 15 and my mom explained what she had done.

I was sharing a hotel room with my parents and in the middle of the night, my dad sits up, looks over at my mom, says my side, my side, grabs his blanket, and turns over and goes back to sleep. Neither of them believed this happened but it was a thing.

I love Catch 22. It was apparently banned for strong language but I feel like some of the themes may have scared some people. I love it because of the irony throughout the book and the author’s analysis of society and authority figures.
