All Of The Reasons Why Leo Is The Fucking Best

She's my Lil Leo, and the best one I know. — Erin

Leo's a weirdo, and I say that with the kind of respect I reserve for whiskey. She can always make me laugh, and just when I'm having the worst day, she kind of knows how to yank me out of it with silly photobooth pics, or "4:20" or literally just a funny question. Leo doesn't know that she's been unintentionally doing this for me for almost three years, but I'm going to miss her so much.

Also, we used to watch movies together and then write posts about them and those are some of my most favorite posts. I'm going to miss you so damn much.

From Lara:

because who else will we explain slang to?

who else will have the PERFECT FUCKING hair bun every day

who else will get us nostalgic about things WE DIDN'T EVEN KNOW WE WERE NOSTALGIC ABOUT?

who else will own the karaoke floor?

leo always believed in me, even when i didn't believe in myself. that kind of management is irreplaceable. i will miss her and her hair buns very much.

From Jarett:

I always knew that no matter how random or underrated a movie was, if I loved it, you loved it too. You were my teen movie soulmate and one of the few people who knows more about Clueless than I do. In a desert of #Youths that think "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" was the first film ever made, you were always there to set them straight — while looking the most youthful of all.

You will be missed.

I will miss Leo's ability to ask questions I had never thought of and have zero clue how to answer. One of these days I will figure out how much cat hair an average cat owner ingests in a night! — Alex K

From Kate:

Leo, remember when BuzzFeed L.A. was five people and two of them were us? It's been a pleasure working with you and knowing you these three years, and I'm so happy for you about your new job. You can come over and visit Frederick and Wally anytime — thanks for always being nice to them when they visit. Love, Kate!

From Ochi:

It was January 7, 2013 when Leo changed all of our lives for the better. We were a little start up working in the shadow of BFNY in a shared work space out of an old bank. Things were bleak. There was ambient music (in an office!?) and no snacks. Brews didn't even exist for LA! And all fun facts were sent via email to the handful of employees in the LA office.

Since no one probably knows these, Leo's fun facts were the following:

- Virgo (but it doesn't matter)

- Judaism, but not too serious about it

- Languages: English (basic), French (pretty decent)

5 days later Leo answered her first editorial group reply when Matthew Perpetua asked what are the Worst Songs To Hear As You Die. Her answer? HAPPY BIRTHDAY. In all caps. Brilliant.

Leo has the ability to make me feel so special every time I see her. She is always so warm and supportive. This is the end of an era. I'm starting to cry as I write this.

I'll really miss you Leo. You are the fucking best!

From Doree:

Leo! You were always so fun to talk about boys or clothes or the difference between Gen X and Gen Y. I had so much fun when we used to collab! Also, you were one of the last members of the O.G. Deco Building crew. I will miss you!!! <3

From Chrissy:

Leo, thank you for being one of the first friends I made at BuzzFeed! You are a bomb ass chick, and I love hearing about your cat mom life. You are a true treasure, and I wish our time together could have been longer. You are so fucking funny. Let's hit up some sample sales soon. MISS YOU ALREADYYYY.

From Scott:

Because of her voice as a writer, her sensibility, her sly way with a joke. She has one of the clearest aesthetics of anyone I've known, always very much Leo, and I'll miss that voice on the site.

Also: her first post on BuzzFeed was about how she wrote a book about Saved By The Bell as a 7 year-old, and it is amazing.

From Charlotte:

Leo is one of the sincerest, kindest, and most endearingly sweet people I've ever met. She never holds back with her ideas and questions, both of which make her a freaking delightful person to be around (especially the questions c':). I love so much who you are and what you do, and while I'm so happy you're entering the next stage of your career, I'm really sad for all of us. We'll miss you Leo, every single day. <3

From Lindsay:

Leo Leo Leo... what can I say? You really can't get much better than this little ray of sunshine. I'll never ever forget planning Clueless Throwback Theater with you, and you basically becoming best friends with Elisa and Stacey. "Can somebody GET A DAMN BLOWDRYER?!" I still don't understand what happened to Stacey's dress. You are such a positive person and so freaking good at what you do. Keep killing it and basically come to all of our Brews because why the hell not!? XOXO times a million!!

From Adam:

Leo! You are so central to how I even think about what it means to work at BuzzFeed LA that I am certain this place will never be the same without you. If everyone's sentiments here are any indication, you are going to be a rock star wherever you go.

From Alex A:

Leo is low-key the most hilarious person at the BuzzFeed office, and was among the best managers here. She's patient, encouraging, supportive, and really knows how to slay at karaoke. She's also someone who is always herself, without any pretense or posturing, and I admire that a lot. I'll miss Leo and her signature hair buns and denim. <3

From Sheridan:

Leo, my partner in crime on the weekends — oh how I will miss your funny one-liners and your above-all intelligence. Seriously, how are you so smart? I love how we were able to find our weird connections to one another, whether NY or Norway or just general love of fashion. Do you know why you're so cool? It's because you literally have no idea how cool you are. You just wake up and it oozes out of you. Sorry for using the word ooze, that's gross, but you know what I mean. You're just the best. You're going to kickass at whatever you do and I feel luckier for sitting next to you for so long.

From Christian:

Omg. Leo...

First of all, I can't believe I found this gif of these glittering lipsticks. THEY'RE LITERALLY YOU.

Anyway, I'm so excited for your future at Hello Giggles! I don't think I can explain how grateful I am that I had you as a manager when I was just a newbie staff writer. I'M ACTUALLY BEING A DAWSON LEERY AND TEARING UP RIGHT NOW. You helped me find my voice and encouraged me to get weird. I completely embraced being a Britney-dancing, Harry Potter-reading, Crunchwrap Supreme-eating friend of celebrity bulges, know what I'm saying? (I couldn't write this without throwing you a Clueless ref.) Basically, I am the writer I am today partly because of my Glitter mom! Once a Glitter, always a Glitter. <3

From Brian:

Leo,

I am lost for words. I don't know who else here appreciates '90s nostalgia as much as you? Who can I turn to now?! But seriously, you're an incredible talent and I am going to miss you.

From Mike:

When I first joined BuzzFeed you were instrumental in welcoming me and making me feel like a member part of the BuzzFeed family. I will miss your stealth humor (those times when you were sitting quietly in a meeting then suddenly piped up with a funny quip) as well as the chances to have longer conversations with you away from the office at places like Open Sesame and Petty Cash. Please keep in touch — once a member of the BuzzFeed family you're family for life!

You can include the attached photo for Leo's strong hat game!

From Naidus:

Leo! You're a freaking inspiration. You were BuzzFeed before any of us were BuzzFeed and you've done funny, fun, weird, amazing shit here. I admire how professional you are, and how over everyone else's silly shit you are, and your leather jacket(s), tbh. I'M GONNA MISS YOU.

From Matt S:

Leo! You were literally one of the first hires for LA and I remember thinking we hit the jackpot because you were PERFECT for the job. You are basically a living encyclopedia of the 90s (and Clueless) knowledge. For the past 3 years you've been an incredible asset to the Rewind team (and BF in general). It's going to be real weird the next time in LA and you're not in the office. It was a fun ride!

From Ariane:

LEO. You are going to do so well at HelloGiggles; please Instagram your inevitable bosom friendship with Zooey Deschanel liberally. Thank you for all the incisive edits to my buzz and for encouraging me to write about vaginas. You are the queef beneath my wings. xo Ariane

From Pablo:

Leo, you and I never took a selfie together, but this is what it would look like if we did. You are fabulous, kind, and an all around wonderful person. I'll never forget the time we hung out and you introduced me to all your amazing friends as well as some amazing liquor. I wish you all the best and I know you're bound for even more greatness!
