1. An angelic dress as an LBD option with a serious surprise to set your heart ~aflutter~.

Elizabeth Lilly / BuzzFeed

I live for and in dresses — and have no shortage of LBDs because they go with everything, don't show sweat, and fit my wannabe goth aesthetic. So when I found this $20 winged dress and plopped it in a Halloween costume post, I ordered one in my usual size and hoped for the best.

The dress's wings are well-made, multi-layered, and true to the product images! (Occasionally a few strings will come loose from the wings, but it is a $20 dress.) I've worn it a few times, most recently on a bachelorette trip to New Orleans for a walking ghost tour and carousing on Bourbon Street. After the bride started saying, "Elizabeth is my fallen angel!" and as our group (there were 16 of us) drank more, people started rubbing their hands on the wing straps. Not weird at all. Granted, the wings look 3D, and as you could imagine, people feel *quite free* when it's legal to drink on the street and they're on vacation!

Regarding the silhouette, it hits me, a 5'9" person, at the normal waist area for an A-line. As for the bra sitch, I'm hardly flat-chested but kinda loathe strapless bras and stick-on bras (even the Insta-famous ones suck). So I just wore a regular black one and thought, Welp I could do much worse than show my bra straps on Bourbon Street. The back does dip down quite far, and I had to shove my bra down to keep it from obviously hanging out, but I made it work. If you're, uh, ample-chested. this is going to show quite a bit of cleavage and obviously your back is pretty much out. Though if you're OK with that, this is a wonderful, un-boring addition to your horde of not-pants. —Elizabeth Lilly

Get it from Amazon for $20.99+ or Moon Sugar Clothing for $18.95 (available in sizes S–XL and in black and white).

2. A pair of workout leggings with pockets to keep your phone right where you need it, within arm's reach to check that yes, you've only been running for three whole minutes.

Maitland Quitmeyer / BuzzFeed

I hate working out. You know how you're supposed to get endorphins from running? That's yet to happen to me. But I'd *like* to be able to run several blocks without having to lie down, so I recently started going on some jogs (I'm following the Couch to 5K app because if someone isn't telling me when I have to run and when I'm allowed to walk, I'm just gonna walk the whole time) and trying some at-home bodyweight exercises. On those early jogs, I had to clutch my phone in my hand as I struggled to get oxygen into my lungs — I am clumsy, so I dropped my phone on multiple occasions. Basically, I needed some athletic leggings (athleggings?) with pockets.

The search was on for workout leggings that were high-waisted, breathable, cute-ish, and had a nice pocket deep enough for my iPhone — and at a price that I would not feel guilty about when I inevitably stopped working out. Enter these $13 workout leggings from Amazon — they had good reviews, met all my requirements, and were cheap enough for the perfect impulse buy. And I am so glad I bought them! They're pleasantly thick and stretchy with the perfect rise, aaand they have mesh panels down the legs that are cute *and* help with the sweat factor. And the pockets are EVERYTHING. Whether I'm flinging myself down the street (that's what it looks like when I'm running), doing high knees, trying one burpee and then lying down, or attempting convoluted yoga poses, my phone NEVER leaves that little pocket! Who needs endorphins when you feel the joy of finding the perfect leggings for under $20?

And if you have comments on my high-knees form, please go right ahead. Reading them will be cheaper than hiring a personal trainer. —Maitland Quitmeyer

Get them from Amazon for $12.88+ (available in sizes 2–12 and in black and dark gray).

PS: You can get this light-as-air workout tank from Asos for $19 — I love it!

3. A trendy skirt that'll be as comfy and affordable as it is stylish.

I've long been intrigued by the ruffly, asymmetric skirts and dresses that fashion bloggers and Instagrammers are obsessed with from super-high-end brands like Joanna Ortiz and Caroline Constas. However, they definitely seemed less than easy to wear, let alone afford. So when I saw this looser, silky take at Target, it was a must-try. It wasn't just the shape that caught my eye — it also features two of my favorite things: professional-looking stripes and a gorgeous lavender-and-navy color combo.I was expecting the ruffles to be weird and all over the place or for the fit to be uncomfortable and impractical. Not so, my friends. With its elastic waist, this baby is comfy as hell. The asymmetric, draped part flows in a fun and flattering way when you walk, and it looks cool no matter where it's positioned — so NBD if it get a little twisted after you sit down. I've had a lot of fun styling this with white tees, jackets (black and pastel alike), and cool AF shoes (which this skirt was made for showing off). I always get tons of compliments and feel effortlessly fabulous when I wear it. —Katy HermanGet it from Target for $19.58 (available in sizes 1X–4X).

4. A splurgeworthy, surprisingly comfortable bodysuit so you can channel your inner '80s rock star no matter what you decide to pair it with.

Emmy Favilla / BuzzFeed

I have never been a Bodysuit Person. I vaguely recall flirting with the idea of buying a bodysuit as a young teen, enthralled by the concept of not having to untuck and re-tuck a top into my jeans ALL DAY LONG, and then promptly shutting it down when I realized that it came with the steep price of having to deal with snaps in my crotch all day long.

Fast-forward 20 years, and I was seduced by the idea once again when I saw this gorgeous velvet bodysuit on Good American's website — yes, Good American, of Khloe Kardashian all-inclusive denim fame. As a huge fan of all things '80s, the velvet leopard print was calling my name, loud and clear, and I simply could not ignore it.

Let me preface my feelings of love and adoration for this piece of clothing by acknowledging that no, it is not cheap. But it feels so freakin' soft and luxurious and is such a surprisingly comfy dream to wear that if you like treating yourself to fancy, pretty things, you also enjoy feeling like an extra from a Joan Jett or Pat Benatar music video in the most badass way possible, and you have no moral objections to supporting the Kardashian empire, you may want to consider purchasing this as well. You can wear the velvet burnout bodysuit on its own (if you do, all of the site's bodysuits conveniently come with pasties) or layered over another piece; I prefer it with a cropped black bra top underneath. It's just a sexy top that you can, if you believe it, dress up or down (I mean...this model wearing it with velour pants? How does this even work so well?!), and the best part is that it is so incredibly comfortable in the snap-closure area that you won't even remember you're wearing a bodysuit. Also, it arrives in a resealable pouch, so you won't have worry about it getting snagged on anything in your drawers or closet.

I am officially a bodysuit convert, and in the weeks since acquiring this one, have even bought another! (Perhaps I'll let you know how that one goes in a separate installment.) —Emmy Favilla

Get it from Good American for $159 (available in sizes 0–5, or XS–2XL).

5. A tough nylon backpack that'll fold up into itself in a zippered pouch.

I tend to shop more when I’m on vacation — and as result, I never seem to have enough room in my suitcase for all the souvenirs. So I went online in search of a packable bag that I can keep in my suitcase until I need it, and I found this nylon backpack by Baggu. Originally I'd wanted a duffle bag, but I figured that a backpack would be more versatile, so I could also use it on a daily basis. It’s a super-lightweight yet sturdy material, which is great for trips. Because it has no padding, I didn’t really plan on using it to stash my laptop, but it can fit a 13-inch MacBook Pro, in case you’re wondering. I took it with me on a trip to Florida, and I had it packed into my suitcase on the way there. It folds down to literally nothing! (It actually comes with a little storage pouch, too, but I already lost it.) During the trip, I realized that my cross-body was too small, so I pulled this out instead, and it looked very stylish as an everyday bag. It’s one of those backpacks that looks better when it’s full, so if you’re the kind of person who loves to bring a cardigan just in case (like me), this is perfect! On the way back home, I transferred some items that I could no longer fit into my carry-on into this backpack, along with a sweater, a makeup bag, and some snacks, and everything fit! It's super easy to clean, too. When it gets dirty, I simply wipe it down with a damp cloth or toss it in the wash. I’m so, so happy with my purchase! —Yi YangGet it from Amazon for $16+ (available in black, cobalt blue, and gray).

6. A pair of trusty joggers sure to earn a leading role in your outfit rotation.

Francine Hendrickson / BuzzFeed

Hey hi hello my name is Francine and I’ve been known to wear a pair of black pants 'til they are faded, dead, deceased, and done-zo, so after wearing out my pair, I was very much in need of another. I decided to stray from denim this time in hopes of finding pants that wouldn’t fade as quickly. After much searching, I found these Wildfang joggers, and the combination of the tailored ankle and drop-crotch waist was too good to pass up.

The waist is also drawstring, so these are super comfy. The pants have deep pockets, don’t ride down, are made of almost 100% cotton, fit true to size, and they’ve held up in both cold and warm weather. I always wash them in cold water, and they have not faded at all so far (after multiple washes!). These joggers have become my go-to pair of black pants, and I love wearing them with everything: button-ups, sweaters, all-black outfits, and this Cowboy Dan T-shirt. The pants are pricey, but totally worth it. I’m confident I will be wearing these for years to come and get my money’s worth out of them, and I'd recommend them to anyone in need of a dependable wardrobe staple!" —Francine Hendrickson

Get them from Wildfang for $99 (available in sizes S–2XL and in black and camo).

7. A pair of blush sneakers neutral AND comfy enough for completing all your warm-weather ensembles.

I wear lots of closed-toe shoes in the summer as a means to avoid accidental contact with stray trash and smelly New York City sidewalks. (A few years back I stepped out of a flip-flop and had a minor meltdown on a busy sidewalk.) So recently, when I've decided I'm not feeling heeled sandals (which create some wonderful distance between your feet and sidewalk filth), I've opted for these suede SeaVees sneakers that are just neutral enough to go with everything. Light suede shoes sound like a recipe for disaster when you rely on walking for transportation, but these blush babes have stayed surprisingly clean despite my constant wear. They have super-soft construction that left my heels feeling A-OK on the first few wears (unlike every other sneaker I've owned). AND they easily convert to a slip-on by simply folding down the heel (like I did for my foot on the right in the pic). Though I don't do that for city wear, that option made going through airport security a breeze and spending some time in the North Carolina sweltering heat on a visit to my parents' more bearable. It also makes slipping them on in a hurry before I run out the door a viable option. But the footbed is mostly what's landed them on my feet so often lately. It's perforated and contoured for a fantastic fit that has me opting out of my fave no-show shocks I rarely go without during sweaty weather. And the footbed has some real bounce. I've walked miles in them (yes, honey) and found myself bouncing in them when I'm standing around waiting for my train or an overpriced salad because they're that cushy. Oh, and did I mention that I've received a parade of compliments for them? A friend even described them as "the perfect neutral." —Elizabeth LillyGet them from Nordstrom for $87.85 (available in sizes 6.5 and 10) or SeaVees for $98 (available in sizes 5.5–11 and in two colors). And check out our picks for the best everyday sneakers on BuzzFeed Reviews!

8. A ruffled T-shirt that'll be all party in the back for some breezy AF adventures.

I don’t even know where to begin with this shirt! I love it SO much. I am all about a good T-shirt-and-jeans look, and so I’m constantly searching for comfy tees that aren’t just another basic. That’s why SeventyTwo caught my attention — they make super-comfy, lightweight cotton tops you’ll literally want to sleep in. I dunno how they do it but their shirts feel like straight butter. Just silky, stretchy comfort that envelops you into a cocoon of utter bliss. What’s even better is they take this delicious material and make some cute AF tops that are both showstopping and simple. Especially their Turn Around Top that’s all business in the front but a beautiful cascade of ruffles in the back. I wore it in Vegas and must have been chased, like, three times by people asking where I got it because it wasn’t until I walked away when they noticed how spectacular this shirt was. Now, these tops aren’t cheap: At $50 a pop they are definitely an investment, but their beautiful designs and ultra-comfy material make them totally splurgeworthy in my book. Plus, the materials are all American made, they’re manufactured in Miami, and the designer is Latina — and I am SO here for investing into badass Latinx companies. Worth every damn cent! —Elena GarciaGet it from Seventy Two for $50 (available in sizes S–L and in white and black).

9. A classy jumpsuit with a chic but workplace-appropriate design you can easily wear to daytime events and nights out.

Emmy Favilla / BuzzFeed

As evidenced in previous review roundups, I identify as Jumpsuit Person. I cannot resist a flattering jumpsuit placed in front of my eyes the same way I can't resist a slice of pizza after two alcoholic beverages. I am okay with this, and with the fact that I currently own four black, honestly kinda similar (but all special in their own way) jumpsuits.

One of those four, the newest in my arsenal, is the dressiest of the bunch and my current fave: this Simply Vera cropped wide-leg jumpsuit from Kohl's. I'll admit that I've never been a huge fan of cropped wide legs, but this has officially made me a convert. I wore it to a baby shower recently and got tons of compliments on it, and that's also why it's earned its status as Top Jumpsuit — it's the perfect no-effort look for special events, nights out, and the workday alike. You can dress it up or down with the addition of accessories and your shoes of choice, and look chic AF any route you take. I love that it has a self-tie belt to adjust to your liking, should you, for instance, choose to eat several doughnuts at said baby shower and happen to need a bit more breathing room. I managed to survive a humid 80-degree day running around New York with this on, but its mid-weight poly fabric is probably best for days when it isn't, like, scorching hot.

If you too are a jumpsuit person, or just looking for a classic, easy-as-hell-to-throw-on outfit for your next function, I couldn't recommend this more. And as part of the Vera Wang for Kohl's collection, it comes with the added bonus of looking a lot more expensive than it actually is. —Emmy Favilla

Get it from Kohl's for $50.99 (available in sizes XS–XL).
