Here's What Taylor Swift Had To Say About Dragging Joe Jonas On "Ellen" All The Way Back In 2008

"We laugh about it now, but that was mouthy."

I don't want to alarm anyone, but Taylor Swift did an interview on The Ellen Show today.

You may not be aware, but this is a Big Deal. Taylor hasn't done a sit-down interview on a talk show since before the Reputation era, when she swore off doing interviews and instead let her music speak for itself.

Well, now we've entered the TS7 era (and, yes, we still have to call it that, because she hasn't dropped the album title yet) — and things have changed.

During her interview with Ellen, we learned some very important things, like that Taylor has a new music video coming soon (she just has to finish it!), and she saw all our jokes about her defeating Thanos on 26 April.

But she also discussed something I never thought I'd hear her talk about: Her love of the word fuck.

No, I'm just kidding, but that ~was~ iconic. I'm talking about when Ellen asked Taylor about the most rebellious thing she did as a teenager. This was her reaction to hearing the question:

Well, imagine my shock when she came out with this:

For the uninitiated, allow me to give you a brief lesson on the most important moment in our recent history.

From around July to October 2008, Taylor Swift and Joe Jonas dated. They went to the VMAs together, and she even appeared as a special guest in the Oscar-deserving Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience.

Things went swiftly (lol) south after they broke up, with Taylor appearing on The Ellen Show and revealing Joe had ended things in a phone call that lasted less than 30 seconds.

But it turns out being in the public eye when you're a teenager can lead to some regrets later, because it's the year 2019, and Taylor just called the whole situation "too much".

"We laugh about it now, but that was mouthy," she said during Ellen's Burning Questions segment. "That was just... some teenage stuff there."

And it's a good thing they can laugh about it, since Taylor's out here wearing a pin of Joe's wife's face on the cover of Entertainment Weekly.

We love growth! You can watch all the clips from Taylor's Ellen Show appearance on EllenTube.
