Megan Fox Showed Off Her Tattoo Of Machine Gun Kelly's Nickname After Saying The "Intensity" Of Their Relationship Is "Overwhelming"

"I got your nickname tattooed on me."

It may seem like Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly have been together forever, but it's actually been less than six months since they went public with their relationship.

And as a result, they've only just made their red carpet debut as a couple, appearing together for the first time at Sunday's American Music Awards.

But the couple isn't the only thing to make its debut at the AMAs — because fans spotted that Megan seemed to be sporting some new ink on her collarbone, which likely relates to her relationship with MGK.

The tattoo seems to read "el pistolero," which is Spanish for "the gunman" or "gunner," apparently one of Machine Gun Kelly's nicknames.

However, dedicated fans of the musician will know that the tattoo isn't ~that~ new. In fact, the couple made reference to it on "Banyan Tree (Interlude)," a track from MGK's album Tickets to My Downfall.

On the track, which was released in September, we hear Megan and Machine Gun Kelly talking about the progression of their relationship and how they've made memories together.

"That was four months ago, that we were right here, and I met you," Megan says on the track. "That's not possible. You just got my initials tattooed on you, and I got your nickname tattooed on me."

It's probably no surprise that the couple has gone so far as to get inked in honour of each other though — especially considering everything they've said about their relationship in the last few months.

"I knew right away that he was what I call a twin flame," Megan said in an interview on the Give Them Lala...With Randall podcast in July.

"Instead of a soulmate, a twin flame is actually where a soul has ascended into a high enough level that it can be split into two different bodies at the same time," Megan explained. "So we're actually two halves of the same soul, I think."

She added: "I said that to him almost immediately, because I felt it right away."

And in an interview with Nylon last week, Megan likened their relationship to a "tsunami" or a "forest fire."

"The intensity of merging with him is just overwhelming," she said, "and the threat it poses is so powerful but so beautiful that you have no choice to surrender with reverence and with gratitude."

"There's never an attempt to control him on my end," she went on. "It's more that he looks to me to avoid his own self-destructive tendencies. And that's where I'm useful, because on his own and left to his own devices, I don't know how much interest he has in caring for himself."
