Justin Hartley's Ex-Wife Defended Him After He "Blindsided" Chrishell With Divorce On "Selling Sunset"
"We derive our own opinion of people by experiencing life and time together."
If you've seen the third season of Netflix's Selling Sunset, you'll know that the final few episodes of the season deal with the aftermath of Chrishell's shock divorce from This Is Us star Justin Hartley.

In the show, we see Chrishell's colleagues learn about the news from TMZ, and Chrishell later revealed she was "blindsided" when her husband told her he filed for divorce in a text.

"I found out because he texted me that we were filed. Forty-five minutes later, the world knew," Chrishell tells Mary on the show.
"In a fight, like that's his go-to. Like, 'I'm out, I'm out,'" she goes on. "I hate that kind of impulsive stuff, but I always just thought, That's an issue, we'll work through it. If [divorce is] really what you wanted, there are better ways to go about it."
It's safe to say viewers of the show didn't react well to the whole texting situation, and the vast majority of people (unlike Davina and Christine) immediately took Chrishell's side.
selling sunset making me wanna fight justin h*rtley, holy fuck dude. you donโt have a fight with your wife on the phone with no resolution, and just go down to the courthouse and file for divorce and then tell her through a text. chrishell is so hurt and confused and needs a hug
Not sure why Justin Hartley is upset over the stuff chrishell said about their divorce when the grown ass man dumped his wife over text message ๐ Justin, youโre a fucking loser. #SellingSunset
justin hartley filing for divorce then telling chrishell over TEXT at the same time the news was released all over the internet is fucking vile, what a piece of SHIT
But now someone new has weighed in on the matter: Justin's first wife, Lindsay Korman-Hartley.

The pair were married for eight years until their divorce in 2012 and have a 16-year-old daughter, Isabella.
The 42-year-old posted a statement on Instagram defending Justin's character amid all the criticism, calling him the "exemplification of a solid man".
"In a day when social media should be used for positivity, an inspiration towards movement in an honest and deserving way, I'd like to join in, by highlighting my appreciation for my family," Lindsay wrote.

"Today, I appreciate my ex-husband Justin for not only being [the] exemplification of a solid man, but for being my dear friend and devoted father to our daughter," she said. "Simply put; for being family."
She continued: "We derive our own opinion of people by experiencing life and time together, and we do our best to hold dear the ones that maintain consistent kindness, love, and generosity."
"No matter what conflicts Justin and I had in the past, I appreciate what we have today and I am thankful for the family we have built," Lindsay concluded the post.

As for Chrishell, she told the Los Angeles Times last week that while she was nervous for the show to come out, she's now focusing on the "endless possibilities" that her future holds.

"To look back on it is really painful because it was an extremely difficult time in my life," Chrishell said. "And people are going to make their judgments. But at the same time, I'm ready to just rip off the Band-Aid. I want to get it over with so that I can really focus on the future."
She went on to say that the ending of the show seemed hopeful: "I'm wondering, 'What's out there? Whatโs this going to turn into?' I don't know what the future holds, but there are endless possibilities now that my plan has completely changed."
