10 Reality TV Couples That Had Public Messy Breakups And 10 That Are Doing Just Fine

Reality TV clearly isn't easy to get into — let alone maintain a relationship while on the camera. These 10 reality TV couples have called it quits, while the other 10 have found light through chaotic television shows.

1. Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix

Things between Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix seemed totally fine until the biggest news broke recently that the two called it quits following Madix finding an alleged sexual video of costar Raquel Leviss on her then-boyfriend's phone. It's alleged that the two had a secret affair for months. The two have been in a long-term relationship for nearly a decade, first getting together on Vanderpump Rules. 

2. Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola and Ron Ortiz-Magro

Ronnie and Sam's relationship woes were captured on Jersey Shore heavily. From emotional breakdowns to yelling and combative arguments, it was clear that these two were toxic from the jump. The estranged exes dated on and off for four years, officially ending their relationship in August 2014. 

3. Justin Hartley and Chrishell Stause

Chrishell Stause and Justin Hartley seemed to have the perfect relationship, as the Selling Sunset star gushed about her partner often. However, things were not great when Hartley texted Stause on camera that they were getting divorced. They married in 2017 after knowing each other for four years, then divorced in 2021. 

4. Lisa and Lenny Hochstein

Lisa Hochstein was crazy about Lenny. However, The Real Housewives of Miami couple displayed signs of trouble in paradise and a devasting surprise divorce in the current season. Lisa claims she was blindsided by Lenny's decision to divorce, and the two haven't gotten along since the messy divorce. Lisa has moved on to Jody Glidden amid the divorce, and good for her!

5. Camille Meyer and Kelsey Grammer

Camille Meyer solidified her spot on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills after viewers got to see the end of her marriage. Camille and Kelsey ultimately ended their relationship after she accused him of cheating with his now-wife, Kayte Walsh. Camille married David Meyer in 2018 and has happily moved on. 

6. Giannina Gibelli and Damian Powers

If you're a Love is Blind fan, then you would know that Giannina Gibelli and Damian Powers showed early signs that it wouldn't work out, from their petty bickering to random arguments. It all played out on the show and on Love After the Altar. Giannina has moved on to date The Bachelor's Blake Horstmann, and they recently celebrated their one-year anniversary. The two met on Paramount Plus' All-Star Shore featuring different reality personalities from Love Island USA to Geordie Shore. 

7. Diamond Jack and Carlton Morton

Love is Blind season one was just crucial to watch because it was filled with DRAMA. Giannina and Damian made it further than Diamond Jack and Calrton Morton. 

Their relationship came to a full blowup after Carlton told Diamond he had been intimate with men in the past, and Diamond felt like he lied and was playing the experience. The epic fight took place near a pool on the couple's honeymoon. Carlton called her a bitch, and she threw a drink at him while stating Beyoncé's iconic lyrics: "Watch my ass to the next d***, boy. Who the f*** do you think I am? You ain’t married to no average bitch, boy!" 

8. Tamra Judge and Simon Barney

Tamra Judge and Simon Barney's divorce played out on The Real Housewives of Orange County and ended up being a brutal battle. Barney made accusations about her parenting style. They divorced in 2011, and she is happily married to Eddie Judge now. They got married in 2013.

9. Zeta Morrison and Timmy Pandolfi

Unfortunately, the winners of Love Island USA Season 4 did not make it after Zeta Morrison revealed that Timmy Pandolfi's whole composure changed towards her after they took the win home. She also said that his family advised him to pair up with the "dark-skinned" because "America loves that," in an hour-long podcast with Murad Merali. The red flags began right after they left the villa. Timmy insists that the two agreed to put on a front in order to win the show. 

10. Zay Wilson and Isaiah "Rae" Williams

Zay Wilson and Rae Williams went on Netflix's The Ultimatum to decide whether to get married or be done with each other. Both had a deep love for each other, but Rae's constant problems with Zay were his anger and constant going out and then not coming home very late, mostly not until dawn. Zay's problem with Rae was the inability to express her emotions in the relationship. The couple had a huge fight after he came home late, so much so that she kicked him out of the apartment after he grabbed her. 

And these couples are happily still together, proving reality TV may be the place to find love.

11. Lauren Speed-Hamilton and Cameron Hamilton

Love is Blind viewers are happy to know that Lauren Speed-Hamilton and Cameron Hamilton celebrated their four-year anniversary in November 2022. The couple attends award shows and travels together often, which is all they wanted to do, as they expressed on the show. They are living their best life, and their romance story will always be the franchise's fan favorites. The two are actively trying to conceive. 

12. Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury

Molly-Mae and Tommy Fury's relationship played out on Love Island UK Season 5. One of the most attractive couples, the pro boxer and creative director of PrettyLittleThing, had challenges in the villa like every islander. From Fury grafting towards Maura Higgins to Molly-Mae and Maura becoming best friends. The reality TV couple recently welcomed a baby girl and are planning a Disney-themed wedding. 

13. Emily Miller and Cam Holmes

Emily and Cam didn't have the smoothest relationship on Netflix's hottest show, Too Hot To Handle. The two seemingly beat the public odds by maintaining a relationship since the show ended. Emily and Cam recently hit a rough patch after Cam was unfaithful to her during her vacation in Thailand earlier last year; however, the two have moved passed it. They met on Too Hot To Handle Season 2 and have been together ever since. 

14. Jenna Compono and Zach Nichols

The reality TV stars' relationship was shown in various ways on The Challenge and not in a good way. However, Jenna Compono and Zach Nichols seemed to find the right way out, from Zach acknowledging her perfect butt to them sharing several kisses on camera on The Challenge: Battle of the Exes in 2014. They have two children and got married in 2021.  

15. Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Jionni LaValle

Though Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi rarely posts her husband, Jionni LaValle, on social media, the two are still going strong. After meeting on Jersey Shore at a nightclub in 2010, the couple experienced trial and tribulations. However, they seemed to always come back to each other. They got married in 2014 and have three children together. 

16. Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag

No one ever thought Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt would make it from The Hills, but they welcomed their second boy in December 2022. The two haven't got the best cut on the show starring Lauren Conrad, and their relationship caused woes in their friendships. In The Hills: New Beginnings, viewers get an insight into their relationship and the two struggling to conceive. The couple's vulnerability from being dead broke to staying afloat and spending money wisely was documented in After Shock: Heidi & Spencer in 2013. They are obsessed with each other, and Spencer has proven to be super supportive.

It's safe to say Paige Turley and Finn Tapp deserved that Love Island win during Season 5 of the series. Finn came in and had his sights on one person: Paige! Their romance has continued to stay strong and steady. In January, they celebrated their three-year anniversary! The 2020 winners are head over heels for each other still.

18. Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula

After dramatic breakdowns and arguments during Summer House in the earlier seasons, everyone is shocked to know that Amanda and Kyle are considered the strongest couple in the house. The two found a groove and were able to work through the past, which is essential in any reality TV couple. The couple wed in 2021. 

19. Clinton Moxam and Uche Nwosu

Clinton Moxam and Uche Nwosu were told they were not a perfect match on MTV's Are You The One Season 6 but continued their relationship on the show, and after, not caring! Well, lucky they did because though they might have been a "perfect match" on the show, they are IRL. They did long-distance for the longest and eventually moved in together. The couple tied the knot on September 4, 2021, living happily ever after. 

20. Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright

The biggest shock of them all may be Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright still being together despite cameras not rolling and a huge cheating scandal that happened in Season 6. The two are way past their Vanderpump Rules days and welcomed their son in April 2021. The fairytale-themed wedding was caught on camera during Season 8, getting married in a perfect castle.
