These lovely and talented humans are Mindy Kaling and Emma Thompson, the stars of the upcoming comedy, Late Night. BuzzFeed I laughed AND I cried. This is already my fave movie of 2019. Go watch. Today is your lucky day, because these women are giving advice to other women! Eight minutes and 56 seconds worth of advice, to be exact! View this video on YouTube youtube.com One piece of advice that especially resonated with me was how these successful-ass boss ladies deal with rejection. BuzzFeed Pls advise. Mindy admits that she doesn't handle rejection particularly ~well~ but keeps busy so she doesn't feel the sting of the rejection in every aspect of her life. BuzzFeed Mindy Kaling: [Rejection] is something that when you feel it enough, you get more used to it and it sort of feels less bad. The other thing that's helped me with handling rejection is that I'm always working on several different things that I care about. So, at any time, if I ever feel rejection in one thing, I'm like, OK it stings — and it never doesn't sting — but I have other things that I'm working on that I feel equally passionate about. Emma agrees that rejection and failure hurt like hell, but is vital in one's life — it helps them develop into a better person and creative. BuzzFeed Emma Thompson: I think Mindy's right, if you're creative and something's been rejected, you must start again. A bit like getting back on the horse, isn't it?MK: Mhmm.ET: Not everything you do will be good, no matter how good you are, not everything you do will be good. Also, failure is of vital importance to your development as a creative person, or, as any person, really. In conclusion: BuzzFeed Preach. Be sure to check out Mindy Kaling and Emma Thompson in Late Night, in theaters on June 7!
