Tom Hanks Almost Starred In "Mamma Mia!" And I Wish I Lived In That Alternate Timeline

A Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep duet would honestly save the world.

We're all familiar with Tom Hanks, the most likeable man in all of show business, correct?

Well fun fact for you about Mr. Hanks, the man loves ABBA. In fact, Tom Hanks loves ABBA so much he and his lovely wife Rita Wilson have produced both Mamma Mia! and Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.

But during an interview on The Graham Norton Show back in January, Hanks admitted that he also auditioned for the movie but wasn't cast because of his singing voice.

Now I don't know about you, but I've watched Mamma Mia! dozens of times, and I truly cannot believe that Hanks wouldn't have done a better job singing than Pierce freaking Brosnan.

But let's stop for a second and play a game of pretend, shall we? Just imagine Tom Hanks serenading theaters across the country with a moving rendition of "Our Last Summer" or belting his heart out to "S.O.S." with Meryl Streep.

I guess I'm still excited to see Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again when it comes out this Friday, but it automatically loses cool points for not having Tom Hanks in it. And that, my dears, is the tea.
