Response to Tell Us How You Said Goodbye To Your Pet:
I’ve never had a cat. In fact, I was allergic to them growing up. I grew up with dogs, but apartment living in L.A. prohibited that. It was the summer of 1998. I started researching cats with the lowest shedding and dander. Sphinx, Cornish Rex, and the Russian Blue came up. The Sphinx was a no go….too creepy. Quite frankly, it looked like a walking scrotum. The Cornish Rex was equally creepy, more alien-like with Ian Ziering hair. The Russian Blue was exquisite, intriguing, with a constant smile on their face. That was going to be my cat. Midori was born on October 18, 1998. When she was a kitten, I would wake-up with her toys either on me or around me. She had this obsession with pens and pencils. I had to be careful when would wake up, because there could be a pen right by my head that could potentially gouge me in the eye. Always a curious one, she was my petite kitty with an elitist attitude. She didn’t play well with others, often turning her back and walking away when another cat would see her through the window or door. She was definitely my little mean girl, but had eyes for her momma. In 2013, she got really sick, I thought I was going to lose her. Her diagnosis was hyperthyroidism. She had gone from 9 pounds to 6.5 pounds. Saved from the brink of death (at least in her eyes), she turned from this independent, snooty kitty, to this loving cat who couldn’t get enough human attention. Since then, every episodic illness became more grim. Saying goodbye isn’t what I wanted to do, but knew it was what I had to do. I didn’t think she would make it through the day, so I contacted the vet in the morning and drove home on my lunch break for my last moments with Midori. I had to be strong, but I wasn’t. I wrapped her in my childhood blanket and drove her to the vet. I was a hot mess. I couldn’t put her in the kennel for her last trip. She rode on my lap. I wanted her to be as close to me as long as I was able. At the vet, her fire shined through, she was vocally protesting. When she was returned to me, I’ll be honest, she wasn’t happy. Was she telling me she wasn’t ready? Or was she just not happy because she hates the vet? She was given a sedative, which immediately calmed her. Oh yeah, kitty was stoned. The next injection was it. I lost it. Holding her tight, kissing her head, I watched the fire of her life quickly disappear from her eyes. Momma. Baby girl. Maw-maw. Midori-girl. My Midori. Gone. For now, but not forever. Thank you for all the years and love you’ve given me, I hope I was the best momma to you, because you were the best kitty ever! xoxoxo ???

I have a Toller, and you shouldn’t just get one because they are “cute”. I love my Koa, but she is the smartest, unrelenting, hyperactive, screeming Toller you’ll meet. I wouldn’t trade her for the world, but know what you’re getting in to!

Why is warm water so hard to achieve from the faucet or shower? Why can’t you have just one spout and be able to combine tge scalding hot water and the frigid cold water….makes sense to me.

The fried butter, donut burger, and fried snickers with bacon are things you find only at the county fair….merely for shock and awe. As for the others, I’ve never seen those. But then again, I’m a West Coast person. I do like my “California ketchup” though…. aka Ranch.
