Mary Lambert & Starley To Perform At BuzzFeed's Queer Prom In New York On Friday, June 1

    BuzzFeed will kick off Pride Month this Friday, June 1 with BuzzFeed Queer Prom to honor every student’s right to experience this joyous rite of passage. LGBTQ artists Starley and Mary Lambert will join the celebration with special performances.

    WHAT:

    BuzzFeed will kick off Pride Month this Friday, June 1 with BuzzFeed Queer Prom to honor every student’s right to experience this joyous rite of passage. LGBTQ artists Starley (“Call on Me”) and Mary Lambert (“Same Love,” “She Keeps Me Warm”) will join the celebration with special performances.

    LGBTQ students from across the country submitted their stories, and five teens will fly to New York as the official BuzzFeed Queer Prom Court. The Court will arrive in New York City, get prom makeovers, take part in the official “Prom Kween” crowning ceremony, and dance the night away, while starring in BuzzFeed’s three-episode video series.

    Inside Samsung’s first-of-its-kind technology and cultural destination in the heart of New York City’s Meatpacking District, Samsung 837, will be prom-themed and low light photo booths, glam stations provided by makeup brands Revlon and Fluide, and many more activations.

    In addition, GLAAD will be launching its new "Amp Your Voice" campaign on the same day as the BuzzFeed Queer Prom. Amp Your Voice seeks to empower young LGBTQ people to speak up, speak out, register to vote, and then take the issues that matter most to them to the polls on November 6th, 2018.
