Tessa Thompson, AKA "Valkyrie" In The MCU, Had The Sweetest Message For Her Queer Fans

"I see you, too. You are loved, you are supported."

This weekend, Tessa Thompson and Brie Larson had a panel together at Ace Comic Con Midwest and honestly, it was about as wonderful as you'd expect.

It's no surprise that the topic of sexuality came up during the panel. Tessa is a huge advocate of queer representation, even pitching her character, Valkyrie, as bisexual based on the comics.

She's even hinted that Valkyrie will potentially be the MCU's first openly bisexual female character in Thor: Love and Thunder.

Tessa herself also came out as bisexual just last year, and has been very open about her identity since.

Further, she and Brie Larson — who plays Captain Marvel — have been vocal about supporting the ship between their characters as well, both on stage and on social media.

no one: absolutely no one: brie larson: we’re here to ship y’all

So when the interviewer asked about the impact of playing Valkyrie during such an important time for the queer community and as a woman of color, Tessa had the sweetest response.

"Speaking of superheroes, it feels heroic to me all the people that are coming out when they are inside of communities or inside of families where that’s really challenging. The past few days have been really moving for me because I’ve gotten to take so many photographs with folks with their flags — their pride flags, their bi flags."

"So I just wanna say to all the folks out there: if you are coming out, if you have, I see you. If you have reasons why you’re not ready, I see you, too. You are loved, you are supported."

"I feel so proud to get to play Valkyrie in this way, but I hope we can get to the space where we see so much representation that we don’t have to congratulate anybody, because we know that it just exists and it’s not going away. And I’m really proud that I feel like I see that more and more."

    Tessa, we love you!
