Here's How Coronavirus Is Affecting Your Favorite Television Shows

In a note to the staff, the executive producers wrote that "out of an abundance of caution," they were stopping production of the show for at least two weeks.

Yesterday, Ellen tweeted the following: "I have some news. For now, I’ll be shooting my show with no studio audience. To everyone who was looking forward to coming, I'm so sorry. But I’m doing this for the health of my fans, my staff and my crew. (It has nothing to do with a warrant for my arrest in the state of Florida.)" As of today, the show was airing a "The Best of Ellen" episode.

After a crew member tested positive for coronavirus, the entire Riverdale production has been shut down. We don't know yet how this will impact the rest of the show's fourth season.

As of March 11, Wendy had ditched her audience and replaced them with the staff from her show. While they don't quite fill the entire audience, they definitely fill the role of her "cohosts." Ask Wendy has gotten somehow juicier knowing they're basically employees asking their boss for advice.

While Season 40 is currently airing on CBS, production of Seasons 41 and 42 has been delayed due to the coronavirus. Season 41 was set to film in Fiji starting at the end of March. Jeff Probst sent a note to the Survivor crew where he explained "though Fiji has no reported cases and is beautifully remote, our crew numbers over 400 and are flying in from over 20 different countries, creating a need for more time to fully analyze and create our new production safety plan."

As of this Sunday, March 15, there will no longer be a live audience in the clubhouse. Here's hoping there will still be guest bartenders!

It was announced today that the AppleTV+ show starring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon is going into a two-week hiatus to ensure the safety of the people working on the show.

The show — which includes a rebooted judges panel featuring Heidi Klum and Sofia Vergara — has decided to record the show without people in the audience. I bet Howie Mandel is relieved.

Both Jeopardy *and* Wheel of Fortune have reportedly said they'll stop using live audiences in their shows.

The Talk will begin taping without a live audience on Monday, March 16.

On Thursday, March 16th Jimmy Fallon did his show without an audience. It has now has gone on hiatus.

Seth's show is said to go on hiatus next week.

Production of Season 33 of The Amazing Race has been shut down, despite not having any cases of coronavirus. Given the travel-centric nature of the show, CBS is considering this a cautionary measure.

Also starting March 16, The Daily Show will be filmed without a live audience.

Pop TV said that while they are still filming One Day at a Time's fourth season, they will no longer perform in front of a live studio audience.

Starting Friday, March 13th Bill Maher will do his show without a live audience.

Orlando Bloom revealed today via Instagram that production of the Amazon series had been shut down in Prague.

Jimmy Kimmel's will tape without a live audience, which began last night with Pete Buttigieg's hosting. No word if the show will still walk the streets of Los Angeles talking to people for segments, but I'm guessing...probably not.
