What Is The Best Use Of A Song In Any Movie Trailer Ever?

Brought to you by my obsession with every John Wick trailer.

So the John Wick: Chapter 4 trailer came out recently, and naturally, I waxed poetic for far too long in my write-up of it about just how incredible the trailer team's choice of music always is — like, they've never missed.

And, as I mentioned in my write-up, I still watch the trailer for the third movie sometimes just to remember what it's like to feel something.

So, this got me to thinking: What's the single best use of a song in any movie trailer ever? One that fit the trailer so well, it felt as if it might as well have been made for it?

Maybe your pick is a horror movie or thiller that utilized the perfect upbeat song to strike a terrifying mood, like when 10 Cloverfield Lane (2016) used Tommy James & the Shondells' "I Think We're Alone Now":

Or perhaps your pick is something super recent, like expert use of Jefferson Airplane's "White Rabbit" (a high compliment from me) in the trailer for The Matrix Resurrections (2021):

Heck, maybe your answer also happens to be the only right answer (if you ask me, anyway), and it's the remixed use of Gil Scott-Heron's "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised" in the first trailer for Black Panther (2018):
