22 year-old woman here! My parents both work for the school system in NC so I remember they were constantly worried about being laid off in 2008. They would come home and worriedly discuss the people they knew who had been laid off and try to plan put what would happen if it happened…Â
It's important to remember that a lot of the women creating these textiles haven't been able to patent the designs themselves because they live in such rural condtitions. We need to make sure these companies aren't taking the designs which have been in the indigenous women's ancestry…Â
I don't wear a hijab but you can be modest and look glam af. Being modest doesn't mean looking like a nun. (Nothing wrong with that lifestyle but for all intents and purposes here.)
Empowering women means building them up no matter how they dress or dance. Reminder, these ladies are moms, hard workers, and extremely successful women. Ladies build ladies up, no matter what.
