Not for any profound reason but Victor Victoria got me through some sad bouts. The light-heartedness and the witty banter and the close friendship between Toddy and Victoria could always lift my mood.
The first time I tried a beignet (from a little French bakery near my house) I thought it was so good I started laughing. I couldn't stop giggling. I was just sitting there covered in powdered sugar giggling by myself with a beignet and happy as I could be.
My college roommate killed a massive black snake (not knowing my phobia of all snakes) and stored it in our refrigerator without telling me until I found it. It stayed there for days until he went off into the woods to cook and eat it with his then girlfriend. I spent the entire time…Â
My friend Toni started me running with the simple mantra "small steps, run happy." It was incredibly helpful, unlike the years of poor workout advice I've been given.
