you roast dinner contains potatoes native to the Americans, Peas native to the Mediterranean/Middle East, black pepper and spices from India and far east. otherwise you're just eating meat cook with salt.

It's what British/European tend to do. Take something from another culture and claim it as their own. Carrots originated in Middle East-India-Southern Asia region. It's probably safe to say that some form of the original carrot cake came from their not Europe.
