I was born (on Hope St.) and raised in L.A. of the 1950s and 60s (Santa Monica, Downtown, South Central, and San Pedro). The newer L.A. is nice, but not the L.A. of my heart. Still, I couldn’t agree more with you in this rant. Once, I heard a guy in a souvenir shop near the Chinese Theatre complaining about L.A. and I invited him to take Highway 40 east. I take a leaf from your own book to tell you you’re being lazy. A good piece of writing such as this should never have the reader’s attention diverted from it by typos and wrong punctuation. Send your writing into the world looking its best.
