I don't see what's weird about Jim Carrey's quote. If I were Emma Stone, I'd be really flattered by that. I mean he's funny professionally, it's expected that he's going to hyperbolise a little.

I Loled at Paris Hilton's quote, I don't like judging people I don't know, but I doubt she's been through a lot of shit in her life, I doubt she's ever struggled for something. And another thing, I think #20 is not dumb at all (maybe the part where he said we didn't even hear him speak)

Wanted to reiterate what benr11 said earlier - the only problem with Mario Batali's quote is that he went the full Godwin and made a Hitler (and Stalin) comparison; the underlying message is right-on. And, Kathie Lee Gifford's quote seems pretty accurate.  Also, I don't see the issue with Jennifer Hudson's quote - maybe it seems weird to those of us who have never won an Oscar or lost a ton of weight, but she's just saying how she feels about both things, and I think her feelings are totally understandable.

Dial the hyperbole back just a tad, and Mario Batali's quote actually nails it.  Also, what's dumb about what Kathy Lee Gifford said? I'm not an expert on entertainment, but that sounds like a perfectly accurate observation to me.

Some of these are not stupid quotes. You should've stayed with the “gimmes”: Kim Khardasian, Paris Hilton, Charlie Sheen.

i think it's a stretch to rank #8, #16, and #17 with the stupidest quotes of 2011, although I can definitely see how Jim Carrey would be in the running for strangest quote of the year
