But it’s still a common symptom… Like it suggests, not everyone has every symptom. If someone is dangerously underweight, then it’s a sure sign. As a teen, I was very underweight, but doctors would not help because they assumed ‘boys do not get eating disorders’
I didn’t have an obscured body image, but I’d still rarely eat, and if I did, I’d purge. Often nearly a week without sustenance. If it wasn’t for a very lovely medical woman who happened to overhear my situation, I probably wouldn’t be here. It turns out I had a form of OCD.
Anyway, my point being is that being underweight is serious symptom that is very obvious sign of lack of sustenance. Both ends of the spectrum shouldn’t be overlooked, please don’t complain about one end.
