    We asked members of the BuzzFeed Community which characters they're voting to add to Smash for Wii U and 3DS. Here are the best of their responses.

    Characters that were prominently featured in previous Smash games as playable characters (like Roy, Ice Climbers, and Wolf) or as Assist Trophies (Waluigi, Isaac, etc) were not included. But they are rad and very much missed.

    2. Simon Belmont from Castlevania

    A Castlevania rep would round out all the classic third-party characters in Smash. In addition to his whip, Belmont has a wide variety of secondary weapons, like crosses, throwing knives and axes.

    Ryu is the undisputed classic king of the fighting game genre and a pioneer in crossovers with companies like Marvel, Namco, and Tatsunoko. Can't you just see him yelling SHORYUKEN and Dragon Punching his way to the edge of Final Destination?

    Impa is Zelda's homegirl and a powerful ninja She would add diversity to Smash and could be designed as a bulkier, more powerful Sheik.

    5. Banjo and Kazooie from Banjo-Kazooie

    The rights to these two currently belongs to Microsoft, but company representatives said on Twitter there would be no issue having the two of them in Smash. They'd be like the Duck Hunt dog and bird, but with more physical attacks and the ability to have Kazooie take lead.

    7. Bomberman from Bomberman

    Hudson Soft's Bomberman is another third-party character who would fit right in the Smash Bros universe. I mean, yeah, he would mostly just use bombs for every move, but he would use them adorably.

    Smash battles are often theorized to be an imaginative child playing with his toys, and Geno is a reanimated superheroic doll who casts magic and has guns for arms. Seems like pretty much a perfect match.

    10. Kaptain K. Rool from Donkey Kong Country

    Smash 3DS already prominently features K. Rool's minions, the Kremlins, in Smash Run, so it's a no-brainer that the mighty Kaptain should join the roster. He'd be a mid-range Bowser, who would shoot cannonballs and use his big ol' jumps to get around.

    11. Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat

    Mortal Kombat is another big dog in the world of fighting games. Though the franchise is known for its violent Fatalities, Nintendo could definitely make Sub-Zero's ice themed moveset kid-friendly and fun in a Smash environment.

    13. Any of the Battletoads from Battletoads

    The Battletoads haven't been in a game for nearly two decades, but they're an iconic retro franchise with lots of flashy animation and characteristics that would suit Smash well. They'd also add a much-needed amphibian to the series!

    "Fabulously evil" Ghirahim would add a lot to Smash. He is a flashy, devilish swordsman unlike anything the series has ever seen and would add another villain to the cast.

    17. Phoenix Wright from Ace Attorney

    Phoenix Wright is an unlikely choice but he was already featured in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, spilling paperwork and attacking with massive "OBJECTION!" voice bubbles. Phoenix would fit even better in Smash and would add some needed gravitas to the franchise.

    19. Midna and Wolf Link from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

    Midna and Wolf would be another great partner character. Wolf Link would be fierce and feral and Midna's shadow powers would animate beautifully on the Wii U and 3DS.

    Scribblenauts features a character who has the ability to transform anything he draws into reality. It would be difficult to fully incorporate the creativity of the character with a Smash moveset, but if Nintendo can make Mr. Game and Watch work, they can make Maxwell work.
