We’re your SU and were here to help you get the most out of student life, socially and academically, as you complete your degree. UWLSU is here to help you build a community of people who you can rely on as you study. When you joined UWL you automatically became a member of this incredible organisation. As your Union, we’re here to be whatever you need us to be, so if there is something you need, that we don’t provide, all you have to do is ask! There is loads for you to get involved in with the SU, from course-based societies to running for sabbatical positions, outstanding event nights, awards ceremonies and much, much more! We know that being a student isn’t the be all and end all of your life. You might have family commitments when your lectures are over, work a part-time job or be flying the nest for the first time; but while you’re studying at UWL, you should snap up every opportunity you can to embrace student life. Your Students’ Union is run by democratically elected officers, chosen by you, to represent your views! This year you, as a student body, elected Dave Titley as your SU President, Zahra Choudhry as the SU Vice-President of Education and Katherine Hackshaw as SU Vice-President of Student Activities and Participation. As well as your elected officers, UWLSU is made up of a large team of passionate, permanent staff who make sure that your union opens its doors every day and that you, as students at UWL, get us to do what you want us to do!
