Netflix Just Released A List Of New Cast Members For "The Witcher" Season 2, And It's A Little Preview Into The New Season

Spoiler alert: We're gonna meet so many witchers.

Today Netflix announced seven new cast members, along with the characters they'll play, for The Witcher Season 2, which is set to premiere sometime in 2021:

The Continent just got a little bigger. Here's the new cast of #TheWitcher Season 2: Yasen Atour as Coen Agnes Bjorn as Vereena Paul Bullion as Lambert Kristofer Hivju as Nivellen Thue Ersted Rasmussen as Eskel Aisha Fabienne Ross as Lydia Mecia Simson as Francesca

Because these characters already exist in the Witcher books and video games, this character list gives us a little preview of Season 2. The stories likely won't be exactly the same, but here are some descriptions of who these characters are in the books and games:

Sidenote: I tried not to spoil any major twists, but it's impossible to know how the show will handle things, so read at your own risk!

    Yasen Atour as Coën

Thank you for the press night flowers family! @OliviaBellMgt 💐 #ScenesFrom68Years

Coën isn't in the Witcher games except for a single vague mention, but in the books, he's a witcher who trains Ciri to use a sword. (So basically get excited to see little Cirilla wielding a blade.) He's also a pretty unusual witcher in that he still has scars from childhood illness and he's willing to take sides in major conflicts.

    Paul Bullion as Lambert

    Thue Ersted Rasmussen as Eskel

Aisha Fabienne Ross as Lydia (probably Lydia van Bredevoort)

Mecia Simson as Francesca (probably Francesca Findabair)

    Kristofer Hivju as Nivellen

    And Agnes Bjorn as Vereena

I couldn't find a picture of Agnes Bjorn, who will play Vereena, but in the books, Vereena is an odd woman who falls in love with the previously mentioned Nivellen despite his appearance. I won't spoil anything, but her strange behavior (like the fact that she only speaks an unknown language) indicates she's probably hiding something.

So basically, things you can look forward to in Season 2 include a lot of witchers, some more sorceresses, Ciri with a sword, and a Beauty and the Beast episode. And you only have to wait until 2021!

(Unfortunately, the cast list does not include Vesemir, Geralt's mentor, so the campaign to cast Mark Hamill continues.)

I still have no idea what this is or what it's about, but I DO know they haven't ever asked me to play Vesemir... yet. #CallMyAgent https://t.co/8gZpuwfsMi
