It's Lisa!

A mother and her daughter are named Beth and Lisa, but you don't know who's who. The mother says, "My name is Beth," and the daughter says, "I'm Lisa!" If at least one of them is lying, what's the mother's name?

"We're both total liars" cannot be true because it would mean a liar is telling the truth. If it cannot be true, Kaitlyn must be a liar, but in order for it to be a lie, Penelope must be a truth-teller.

Penelope is a truth-teller and Kaitlyn is a liar!

In a land of people who either only tell lies or only tell the truth, you meet Penelope and Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn says, "We're both total liars!" What does that really mean about Penelope and Kaitlyn?

Neither an ally nor an enemy would say they're an enemy, which means Mandy is lying. And that means Ryan is telling the truth. (We can't be sure what Chad is.)

Ryan is an ally!

Chad, Mandy, and Ryan are each either an enemy who only lies or an ally who only tells the truth. Chad says something in a strange language. Mandy translates, "He said he's an enemy." Ryan responds, "Mandy is lying." Who is an ally?

According to logic, both people will answer with the door that's dangerous, thereby revealing the safer door.

"Which door would the other person tell me is safer?"

There are two strange doors in front of you, and only two people know which one is safe to open. One person can only tell the truth while the other can only lie, and you don't know who's who. What is one question you can ask to find the safe door?

#1 present with tag, "$1 million inside," #2 present with tag, "#1 is empty," and #3 present with tag, "Empty"

If only one label is true, then it must be the label on present #2 that says $1 million is not in #1. Therefore, the tag on #3 is lying, meaning there's $1 million in present #3.

One of these three gift boxes has $1 million in it while the other two are empty. Each gift also has a tag. If only one of these tags is true, which gift should you open to get $1 million?
