1. Crazy Ex-Girlfriend

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is perhaps the CW's most underrated show, but it's definitely one of the best-written shows to come from the network. Co-creator Rachel Bloom stars as Rebecca Bunch, a successful New York City lawyer who drops everything to move to West Covina, California, to follow an ex-boyfriend from her childhood summer camp.

It's a musical, but the songs are absolutely hilarious, about every subject you can imagine. (Love triangles! Giving birth! UTIs!) But besides that, it's also deeply relatable in the way it handles mental health issues and struggles that come with adulthood.

2. You're the Worst

As the name suggests, You're the Worst is about terrible people, but they're also kind of amazing. The show focuses on couple Jimmy and Gretchen, who are both their own brand of fucked up and have struggled with finding love. But together, they complement each other and attempt to figure out how to be in their first healthy relationship. It is sweet and will make you hopeful about love, but it also has so many batshit-crazy moments that rival the stuff the It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia gang gets up to.

3. Lovesick

If you haven't watched Lovesick, what are you waiting for? Johnny Flynn (yes, the guy from Emma) plays Dylan, a guy who has chlamydia and has to reconnect with his exes to tell them the news. The show is sweet and hilarious and has a great soundtrack, and it'll make you fall for Johnny's character so hard.

4. Happy Endings

If you've ever wanted a show that's a more relatable, diverse version of Friends without a laugh track, this is it. As you might've guessed, it's about six friends struggling with adulthood, and it all starts with a runaway bride. Even if you're not a Friends fan, you'll be into this show. Plus, you can't go wrong with a cast like this.

5. The Mindy Project

Chances are you loved Mindy Kaling in The Office, so it's about time for you to watch her show if you haven't. She plays Mindy Lahiri, an OB-GYN who hits rock bottom after a mishap at her ex's wedding. It is hilarious, has an incredible cast, and is the best excuse to look at Chris Messina's face for hours.

6. Please Like Me

Josh Thomas now has a Freeform show, Everything's Gonna Be Okay, but I'd say that before watching that one, you should watch Please Like Me, which is the first show he created. Josh stars as a character who shares his name, who comes out as gay and navigates relationships, and who copes with having a mother suffering from severe mental health issues. If you loved Hannah Gadsby's Netflix special, Nanette, you'll love this show because it tackles similar topics and she's a series regular from Season 2 onward.

7. Peep Show

If you love awkward comedies, you cannot go wrong with Peep Show. In case you're not familiar with the hit British comedy, it's about two roommates, Mark (David Mitchell) and Jez (Robert Webb), who do not have their shit together. This show is also where Olivia Colman had her first big role, and she's absolutely brilliant in it. Peep Show is extremely quotable and relatable, but it'll also make you cringe so much.

8. I'm Alan Partridge

Where to watch: Netflix UK.

I'm Alan Partridge is a British classic, and it makes Curb Your Enthusiasm's fictionalized Larry David seem like a people person in comparison. It's a follow-up to Knowing Me, Knowing You With Alan Partridge (which is also on Netflix UK) and follows the socially inept radio DJ and former TV host as he deals with being left by his wife and losing his TV show.

9. Joe Pera Talks With You

After hearing so much about the show on Twitter, I finally checked out Joe Pera Talks With You last month during a flight. Comedian Joe Pera stars as a fictionalized version of himself, breaking the fourth wall by directly talking to viewers about a new subject in each episode.

The themes are very wholesome, including why he waits for his grandma while she's at the beauty parlor, growing a bean arch, and going to the grocery store. The episodes are really short, so you can watch many in one sitting. It's exactly the kind of relaxing show that's needed right now.

10. The Eric Andre Show

Where to watch: Hulu.

I'll admit it — The Eric Andre Show is not for everyone. It's the kind of show that would most likely horrify your mom. But if alt-comedy is your thing, it's a great show to watch. It's difficult to explain the show, so I'll just say it's the wildest ride and you'll now get where many of the Eric Andre and Hannibal Buress memes come from. This is also the perfect show to celebrate 4/20 with 😉.

11. Spaced

Before Simon Pegg became a big star, this was one of his first starring roles. Simon stars as Tim, who has to find a new place to live after a breakup. He finds the perfect apartment, but there's a caveat: It's only available for couples. So he decides to team up with Daisy (Jessica Stevenson), a struggling writer also looking for a place, and fake a relationship.

Though the premise doesn't seem too far-fetched, Spaced incorporates some surreal moments that make the show feel trippy. If you love Simon and his longtime collaborator Nick Frost, you'll enjoy the duo as best friends on the show.

12. Los Espookys

Where to watch: HBO Go.

This HBO show is delightfully spooky and wholesome, about a group of horror-obsessed friends who decide to start a business where they can be hired to spook others. Yes, you may have to read subtitles for most of it, since 90% of the show is in Spanish, but it's so good that it shouldn't be something to worry about. Plus, Julio Torres, who plays Andrés, will give you some serious outfit envy.

Even if you haven't watched The League, there's a good chance you've enjoyed something else the cast members have been in, so it's time to watch the show. It's about a group of immature friends living in Chicago who have their own football fantasy league. I have to admit I know nearly nothing about football, but The League is one of my favorite shows, and it'll make you laugh so much.

14. London Irish

Where to watch: Amazon Prime.

This show was made by Derry Girls creator Lisa McGee, and it's just as great. It feels like a British version of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, about a group of extremely fucked-up Irish friends who live in London. It's a limited series, with only six episodes, so it's a very quick watch and absolutely worth it.

15. Sex Education

If you haven't watched this hit Netflix original, what are you waiting for? Asa Butterfield stars as Otis, an awkward teen who is sexually inexperienced but uses the knowledge from his sex therapist mom, Jean (the amazing Gillian Anderson), and starts a sex advice business with his best friend, Eric (Ncuti Gatwa), and crush Maeve (Emma Mackey). With the exception of Gillian and Asa, the cast is made up of newcomers and they're all incredible. The show's sweet, funny, and pretty damn horny, so it's the perfect remedy for when you're feeling down.

16. The Larry Sanders Show

Comedy enthusiasts have most likely watched this one already, but if you haven't, it's worth checking out. The late comedy legend Garry Shandling stars as the titular late-night talk show host in the series, which follows the behind-the-scenes issues that come with being on TV. There are so many reasons to watch this show, but primarily it's brilliant because of its stars. Names like Rip Torn, David Spade, Jeremy Piven, Janeane Garofalo, and Bob Odenkirk are part of the supporting cast, with many at the beginning of their careers.

If you're a millennial, you've probably watched Skins and maybe wanted to be Effy Stonem. Well, now's your chance to rewatch! If you haven't watched this iconic show about a group of teens in Bristol, England, navigating adolescence, treat yourself to a trip to the late 2000s by bingeing all of it.

Are we having fun yet? Well, you will once you watch Party Down! Adam Scott stars as Henry, a failed actor who has to return to working as a caterer to make ends meet. There are few shows with a cast as amazing as Party Down: Ken Marino, Lizzy Caplan (yes, from Mean Girls), Martin Starr, Jane Lynch, Megan Mullally, and Ryan Hansen costar in it. Since it comes from Veronica Mars creator Rob Thomas, you can expect many cameos by that show's cast, too. I cannot recommend it enough.

Community just arrived at Netflix and is still on Hulu, so there's no excuse not to watch it if you've been wanting to. In case you haven't watched yet, it's about a study group who become friends even though they're all very different from one another. I'm sure you know all the reasons why you should watch it by now, so go watch!

20. Daria

Where to watch: Hulu.

Let's face it: High school is enough of a nightmare that nobody really wants to revisit it. But Daria is one of those few high school–based shows that are great to watch. Not only is it deeply relatable, but it is also clever and funny and has a great soundtrack. If you haven't watched it yet, here's your chance.

21. Silicon Valley

Silicon Valley ended last year, so if you haven't had a chance to watch yet, might as well do it now. As the name suggests, it's about programmers struggling to make it in Silicon Valley, and the cast has plenty of great comedy guys, like Martin Starr, Kumail Nanjiani, Thomas Middleditch, and Zach Woods.

Saturday Night Live writer and Los Espookys co-creator–star Julio Torres has embraced his particular brand of weirdness and has one of the most unusual stand-up specials I've ever seen. As the title suggests, he goes through his favorite shapes, and it's so damn good.

23. Whitmer Thomas: The Golden One

Maybe you've listened to Whitmer Thomas's viral song, "Big Baby," already, or have friends who have expressed their huge crush on him on Twitter. But if you haven't watched his HBO special, you should. Incredibly sweet and dedicated to his late musician mom, it features Whitmer getting candid about topics like almost being abducted as a toddler, coping with grief, his tumultuous relationship with his dad, and more.

Those topics might sound dark and emotional, but Whitmer brings plenty of humor to that pain. He also performs original songs that are just as catchy as "Big Baby," so you'll find yourself randomly singing dark lyrics like, "Now I can't party 'cause my mommy partied to death."

24. Jenny Slate: Stage Fright

Jenny Slate is always so freakin' delightful and relatable, so it's no shocker that her Netflix special is too. Jenny allows those who know her from her movies and TV shows to get to know her better as she talks about being a horny teen, her divorce, her relationship with her family, and growing up in a haunted house. If you're a fan of hers, you'll love her even more.

25. Chris Gethard: Career Suicide

Where to watch: HBO Go.

I had the opportunity to see Chris Gethard perform this in an intimate room before he filmed the HBO special, and it was one of the most cathartic moments I've ever had at a comedy show. Chris gets extremely candid about his mental health issues, recovering from alcoholism, getting fired from SNL, and the bond he has with his therapist. It tackles some dark topics, but by the end, it makes you feel hopeful.
