Praise The Lord, Matty J Has Been Announced As The Bachelor For 2017

Please don't put him in a chocolate bath.

In a move that hasn't really surprised anyone, Matty J, the runner-up of last year's The Bachelorette has been announced as the new Bachelor.

After having his heart torn out, trampled on, shoved in a food processor, and blended, the 29-year-old fan favourite said he's excited at the prospect of "settling down".

"I'm beyond excited to start this incredible adventure and to find the special girl I’ve been waiting for," he said in an Instagram post.

When asked last year if being the Bachelor for 2017 was on the cards, Matty J told BuzzFeed he was unsure.

"There’s such a huge expectation from viewers, and I wouldn’t want to disappoint them. I’m not sure I have what it takes... It feels like I’ve finished a marathon, and someone is coming up to me and asking if I want to do another one! I can't think of anything worse. But it may change in a few months time."

Well, we're glad he did change his mind. But to the producers of The Bachelor, we're begging you... please don't put him in a chocolate bath.
