This Girl On Tumblr Wrote A Post About Why People Get Divorced And Now I'll Never Look At Love The Same Way Again

This is Taylor Myers, a 25-year-old poet from Ohio. Recently, she shared a prose piece on her Tumblr about a class she took called "Relationships for Life." To put it simply, her post BLEW 👏 UP. 👏

In her piece, Myers explained that "people fall out of love for the same reasons they fell in it":

Howevs, Myers later added that she was "bitter and sad" when she wrote the piece, and realized she had forgotten to include the uplifting lessons the class taught her:

TL;DR, Myers' professor asked the students, "Is love a feeling or is it a choice?" Unsurprisingly, the whole class initially answered that it was a feeling.

But then, the teacher made the argument that love was actually a choice, saying that ~feelings~ of love would fade and couples have to make the ~choice~ to identify issues and openly communicate about them.

This concept hit Tumblr, like, HARD:

So the moral of this story, kids? The teacher believes that people in happy marriages and relationships CHOOSE love. They don't always feel it.
