What do you get when you combine a huge Batman fan with a pretty cool wife and kid? The most adorable comic book–themed photo shoot.
Wisconsin-based photographer Eric Thiele took the superhero-inspired photos of Mike and Roxanne Daly and their toddler son, and one of the pictures blew up after being posted on Facebook by Unilad.
Mike Daly told BuzzFeed News that he is a huge fan of Batman, and even decorated his son’s bedroom with a Gotham theme. So last Halloween, he dressed up with his son as Batman and Robin.
The costumes gave his wife Roxanne an idea. She decided to surprise him by setting up a Batman-themed family photo shoot as an early Father’s Day present.
"We picked up our son at day care and she drove us to the site, and I still didn't know what was going on until the photographer came out," Daly said.
After the shoot, Daly jokingly posted one of the pictures to Facebook with the caption, "I finally agreed to do a family photo...but only on my terms."
Daly said he loved the idea and the photos. "It's probably the best gift I could have ever received from my wife. Besides her undying love and an adorable child," he said.
The family is "floored" by the attention the pictures are receiving, but Daly said they think it is a great memory. "It's really cool, and something we'll get to talk about in our family for a really long time," he said.
