1. Macaulay Culkin as Richard Tyler
Culkin spent the majority of The Pagemaster lending his voice to his animated character. (The film is a hybrid of live action and animation.) The movie debuted four years after Culkin's immensenly successful film Home Alone, so he was already a household name by the time The Pagemaster was released.
Today, Culkin isn't acting as frequently as he did as a kid, but he did work on Robot Chicken from 2005 to 2010. His most recent acting project was the 2013 short Macaulay Culkin Eating a Slice of Pizza. He's also heavily involved with his band, The Pizza Underground.
2. Christopher Lloyd as Mr. Dewey and The Pagemaster
Lloyd also did a hybrid of live-action and voiceover work, with his animated persona being the title character. He's most known for his role as Dr. Emmett Brown in the Back to the Future trilogy, as well as his early roles as Taber in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and the Reverend Jim on TV's Taxi.
These days, Lloyd is still acting prolifically. He starred in the TV show Granite Flats and has two films set to premiere later this year: Cold Moon and The Boat Builder. He's currently filming I Am Not a Serial Killer, set to debut in 2016.
3. Patrick Stewart as Adventure
Stewart provided the voice to the pirate-like thriller book Adventure. He's best known for his roles as Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek: The Next Generation and as Professor Charles Xavier in the X-Men films. More recently, he voiced Avery Bullock for more than 60 episodes on American Dad! and has several projects coming out soon. In 2017, he will revise his role as Professor X in a sequel to Wolverine.
He's also a strong advocate for ending domestic violence, publicly speaking about his own experiences growing up in a violent household.
4. Whoopi Goldberg as Fantasy
Goldberg brought the feisty fairy-tale book Fantasy to life. She also voiced the hyena Shenzi in The Lion King, which came out the same year as The Pagemaster. However, she's best known for her work in the Sister Act films, The Color Purple, and her Academy Award-winning role in Ghost.
Today, she continues to co-host The View, a job she's held since 2005. She also has five projects premiering in 2015, including Black Dog, Red Dog, alongside James Franco and Olivia Wilde.
5. Frank Welker as Horror
Welker lent his voice to the third book character, Horror, who is anything but scary; he's actually quite childlike and adorable. Prior to The Pagemaster, he voiced many iconic characters, including Abu the monkey from Aladdin. Since Abu doesn't actually speak, Welker provided all the sound effects for his character. He's also known for a plethora of voiceover work, including The Real Ghostbusters, The Rescuers Down Under, Garfield and Friends, and Fred Jones from the Scooby-Doo franchise. He's actually been the main voice for Fred since Scooby Doo first premiered in 1969.

6. George Hearn as Captain Ahab
Hearn voiced the crazed character from Herman Melville's classic book Moby Dick. He's best known for his work in The Devil's Own and Flags of Our Fathers. Hearn also played Sweeney Todd in the 1982 musical version of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.
He's guest-starred on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Cheers, and Murder, She Wrote. He hasn't acted since Flags of Our Fathers in 2006.
7. Leonard Nimoy as Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde
Nimoy voiced dual roles as the characters in Robert Louis Stevenson's famous novel, The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. He's best known as Spock from the Star Trek franchise. He also guest-starred on shows such as The Outer Limits, Gunsmoke, and The Simpsons, where he played himself in two episodes. Additionally, Nimoy lent his voice to his Spock persona on an episode of The Big Bang Theory.
Nimoy died in February, but he never retired from acting. His last film role was as Spock Prime in Star Trek Into Darkness in 2013.
