Unless you've been living in a cave with no internet the past few months, you know we are currently in the middle of a war, and that war is the War Of Sparkling Alcoholic Beverages.™
And now, there's another competitor in the ring: Sparkling Tequila.
That's right: SPARKLING. TEQUILA.
Azulana, an LA-based tequila company, plans to roll out a line of beverages made with 100% agave tequila, sparkling water, essence of fruit, and "a subtle hint of agave nectar," according to their website.
Now, as someone who's had MANY a regretful night drinking tequila, I'm a little terrified. And as someone who thoroughly enjoys spending time sipping a crisp, sparkling beverage by the pool, I'm even more terrified.
But also, pretty intrigued.
Azulana's creation will be available in three flavors: Original, Pineapple Rosemary, and Lime. They'll have an ABV (alcohol by volume) of 4.3%, which is less than White Claw and WAY LESS than Four Loko.
Does it have what it takes to dethrone White Claw? Only time will tell. Until then, the war rages on.
