These Are All The Movies You'll Need To Watch Before Seeing "Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness"

    🚨SPOILERS AHEAD🚨: While there are no spoilers, only fan rumors, for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, there are multiple spoilers for already released Marvel films. You have been warned!

    While I’m sure we’re all eagerly awaiting for the release of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, it might help to watch a couple of these films (as we allllll learned from Spider-Man: NWH).

    1. Avengers: Age of Ultron

     Despite not actually having Doctor Strange in it, this movie gives us a solid introduction to Wanda Maximoff, her pain, and her downward spiral that continues from this movie onward. Plus, this movie isn't as bad as people say it is!

    2. Doctor Strange (2016)

    Obviously on this list is the OG Doctor Strange, introducing Benedict Cumberbatch into this iconic role. This movie not only sets up Doctor Strange for future films, but it presents his struggles and his arrogance as well as other characters such as Mordo, Wong, and Christine.

    3. Avengers: Infinity War

    Another solid appearance by Doctor Strange, Wanda, and Wong in this movie. We get a deeper look into the powers that Doctor Strange possesses and how he has progressed up until this point. We also see how Wanda's strength has deepened and her attachment to Vision, along with his loss.

    4. Avengers: Endgame

    Does this one really need to be explained? Another great testament to Doctor Strange's abilities along with Wanda's strife and how far she is willing to go to avenge Vision.

    5. WandaVision

    This TV series is the start of Wanda's villain arc. We see her where we left off after Endgame, and exactly how much grief she is being put through with the loss of Vision. We get a solid introduction to Agatha, who teaches us more about spells and casting them, and an introduction of Monica Rambeau who is speculated to appear in MoM. This series also explores the concept of Nexus beings (not in-depth, but still) as well as the multiverse.

    6. Loki

    Besides the possibility of there being a Loki cameo in the MoM movie, this TV series is a must-watch, as it is our first official introduction to the multiverse as well as the set-up of a future "big bad." The series also sets up exactly how important a singular timeline is, and what will happen if it branches.

    7. What If...?

    Obviously cannon to the MCU is Marvel's What If. This series deals with the various realities scattered throughout the multiverse and it gives us insight into who Captain Carter is (who is also rumored to appear). We also get a closer look at Sinister/Dark Strange who is set to appear in MoM, as well as what will happen if someone tampers with a timeline. Despite this TV series not being the biggest streaming MCU success, it is an important watch since it sets up many moving elements that could possibly be seen in MoM.

    8. Spider-Man: No Way Home

    This movie introduces the problem that we will deal with in the MoM movie. It shows exactly how fragile the fabric of the universe is, and the spell that will ultimately cause the problem in MoM. If there is any movie on this list you NEED to watch, it is this one.

    9. X-Men movies

    Rumored to be in MoM is Professor X, who was originally introduced into the X-Men series. He's also in the comics as a big part of the group. Also rumored to appear are the Illuminati group members. It is still up in the air whether Prof. X will be seen, it's better safe than sorry!

    10. Deadpool

    Another rumored character is Deadpool. Now, I'm not going to lie, I haven't see these movies myself. However, that's what this list is for and that is why I will watch it, and so should you! Deadpool is rumored to appear, so it is best we know his story line before that happens.

    Honorable mentions...

    I would say watch Captain Marvel (also rumored) and Captain America: Civil War (also features more Wanda) for a refresher.
