"It Makes Me Gag": People Are Sharing The Most Disgusting Spices In Cooking, And Points Are Being Made

"Dried parsley is a fake spice. No one can convince me otherwise. It’s purely for color and zero flavor."

Reddit user u/ChingusMcDingus recently asked, "What is the worst spice in your cabinet?" and the opinions are getting HEATED.

But now it's your turn. Do you love or hate these spices?

1. "I know I’m going to catch grief for this, but cardamom is on the shit list. It's way too strong."

2. "Smoked paprika. I want to love it so badly, but I can taste even the smallest amount in any dish and it ruins it."

3. "Dried parsley is a fake spice. No one can convince me otherwise. It’s purely for color and zero flavor."

4. "Pre-ground pepper. I hate it for the same reason lemon pepper sucks. By the time it's ground, all of the nice, tasty oils have already evaporated."

5. "Honestly, it's garlic salt. I don't need those combined. If I want something to have garlic flavor, the garlic salt just makes it salty. There's, like, barely any garlic flavor, and thus it throws off the salt level."

6. "Lemon pepper. When I was a teenager in the '90s, this was all my mom ever used when she cooked. Lemon-pepper chicken. Lemon-pepper pork chops. Lemon-pepper vegetables. Enough, already! Did this terrible seasoning transcend other generations as well?"

7. "My wife hates thyme. Like, legit hates it and can taste the smallest amount in anything. I add the smallest pinch to anything, she can tell. Even if I say nothing. She picked out a teaspoon of thyme mixed with 4 cups of flour and other seasonings in a fried chicken breading. One bite and she knew. Needless to say, the thyme in my cupboard should probably just get thrown out. I'll never get to use it."

8. "Fucking caraway seeds. Why the hell do I even have them? I'm not trying to mix up my own everything bagel seasoning. How did it get here? Damn you, caraway!"

9. "Ground marjoram. Mostly because it's ground, not because it's marjoram. I cannot fathom why I bought it."

10. "I went to the cabinet, and dried basil leaves are my worst offender. I don't know what it’s supposed to taste or smell like, but it’s nothing fresh. Bleh."

11. "Onion powder. It always turns into a block of concrete in my spice cabinet."

12. "Dried tarragon is just too powerful to ever seem to use right. I don't even know how it got there at this point. But I don't want to waste it."

13. "Nutmeg. It has its uses and I do use it, but if I smell it on its own, it makes me gag."

14. "Fennel can actually piss right off."

15. "Um, as much as I love a savory herb, currently the worst spice in my kitchen is the 1-POUND BAG OF OREGANO. I’ve had it for years, just going through it pinch by pinch. It haunts me."

16. "Dill. I have dill trauma."

17. "Fenugreek. I hate the smell."

18. "This is going to sound weird, but cumin is one spice I can't stand. The flavor of it makes any dish inedible to me, which is quite sad, since it seems to be a very popular spice."

And finally...

19. "Celery salt 🤢."
