Recently, Amy Schumer made headlines after she fired Penn Badgley's wife as her doula, which is someone you can hire to guide you through childbirth and postpartum life.

On Penn's podcast, Amy said, "I feel like I know you because your wife helped bring my son into this world. Domino and I are due to have a conversation. We were gonna work together longer after I had Gene. I suddenly was like, 'I'm good and I don't need a postpartum doula anymore.' The truth was — this is pretty unfair to her, after I had Gene — I was recovering from a C-section. Domino is like a goddess. She's an actual floating siren around the house. She's so, like, just lovely and when she touches you just kind of melt. And she was really a family member. And I just felt so vulnerable that I was like, ‘I can't have this Botticelli fucking goddess floating around my home when I am, like, bleeding out.'"

1. Jeff Lewis fired his Flipping Out costar Jenni Pulos in a very dramatic, intense moment:

Jeff said in his confessional that he wasn't even sure he was going to fire her until an hour before the conversation. Jenni said she was blindsided. As for why he let his former BFF go, he said on his radio show,  "I would say this to her face, I do believe that over the years she changed — in the sense of, not who she was off the cameras, but who she was on the cameras. Jenni was funny, she was sarcastic, she was edgy, she was dark. And then what happened was, around Season 2 or Season 3, when her husband left her, and it was devastating, there was an outpour, a huge outpour of condolences. And it’s almost like she became kind of a victim on camera. I found that, from that moment on, I felt like she was more edited and more self aware on camera than she was off camera."

2. Jessica Simpson fired her dad, Joe Simpson, as her manager:

"That was a very hard thing for me to do because he was always my manager. That was our relationship," she said during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Later, when Jimmy asked how she fired her dad, Jessica said she did it at a family dinner. She did say that they are still “best friends.”  

3. In an early Keeping Up with the Kardashians episode, Kim Kardashian fired Kris Jenner:

Kim apparently was not happy with how Kris was "overbooking" her in the early years of her fame. Kim even interviewed potential new managers right in front of Kris. The TV moment is pure camp.

4. Omarosa, who was an aid for Donald Trump, was fired by White House Chief of Staff John Kelly:

She was fired in the Situation Room by Kelly. The then-president claimed he was unaware that Omarosa was being fired. Read more here.

5. Kim Kardashian fired her former assistant, Stephanie Shepherd, who had become a celebrity in her own rite:

Fans of Keeping Up know that Stephanie became a fixture in the Kardashian universe. But she was soon let go by Kim shortly after she told Kourtney that she was feeling "unfulfilled" with her life. Kim found the conversation "unprofessional."

6. Andy Cohen fired Dorinda Medley most recently after she had a rough last season on Real Housewives of New York City:

Dorinda's firing — or as she calls it, "being put on pause" — was a huge storyline on Ultimate Girls Trip, where she refused to just admit she was fired. She's still a legend, despite her firing.

Teddi — who was a divisive player on the show — shared the news of her firing on her Instagram. "I recently found out that my contract as a Housewife is not being renewed," she said. "Of course I could give you the standard response of, 'Oh we both came to the decision that it would be best.' Nah, I'm not going to do that — that's not who I am. Of course when I got the news I was sad. It feels like a breakup, almost."

8. Lisa Vanderpump fired James Kennedy after several inappropriate actions while drinking:

On Vanderpump Rules, James had a reaaal nasty side when he would drink (at work too!). He would often insult people and say really hurtful things to other employees. The final straw was when he body-shamed Katie Maloney, saying, "Lose some fucking weight."

Although The Hills was basically fake, their roles at People Revolution were "for real," Kelly said. She said Stephanie "couldn't even answer phones," and because of Stephanie's incompetency as an intern for Kelly, she had Lauren fire her.
