This isn't the first time she's spoken about or shown that she's an ally. During her Wango Tango set in 2019, Taylor gave an impassioned speech about equality. "Who you love, how you identify, you should be able to live your life the way you want to live your life."

That same year, Taylor started a petition on Change.org, advocating for the Equality Act. It received over 847,000 signatures.

"Our country’s lack of protection for its own citizens ensures that LGBTQ people must live in fear that their lives could be turned upside down by an employer or landlord who is homophobic or transphobic," Taylor wrote. "The fact that, legally, some people are completely at the mercy of the hatred and bigotry of others is disgusting and unacceptable. Let’s show our pride by demanding that, on a national level, our laws truly treat all of our citizens equally."

She also donated $113,000 to the Tennessee Equality Project, which fought anti-LGTBQ hate and inequality in the state.
