Americans: Do Brits Say These Things Or Am I BSing You?

Although most likely used by mums to explain how disorganised something is, this is indeed a phrase used by Brits. _Example:_ The way Diane has arranged her flowers is all very higgledy-piggledy!"

This is a real phrase we actually use to react to something very pleasing. _Example:_ "I've got two bottles of prosecco for us to smash on the train to Manchester!" **"Lovely jubbly!"**.

It's BS! As much as "yummy bummy" sounds like something my mummy would say to describe something lovely in her tummy, it is not part of the British vernacular – soz!

'Tis a real word! "Bollocking" means a real telling off when you've done something proper naughty. _Example:_ "You deserve a right bollocking for waking me up last night when you came in pissed!"

This is not a real word or phrase my dear American! If it were real it would definitely mean getting so drunk you shit yourself. Or – a shed used to collect poo, depending on how you pronounce it. Lovely jubbly!

"Silly billy" is indeed a real phrased used by real people to describe real sillies _Example:_ "The door says PULL you silly billy!!"

Nope, this one isn't real, buuuutt "dilly-dallying" _is._ I'll let you look that one up yourself.

This one is real and I'm gonna be real _miffed_ if you didn't get this right!

Whilst "pooshed" was not a real British term for getting absolutely wasted, "sozzled" is! Granted the last time I heard it used was from a man riding a penny-farthing, but _still._

Oh dear, you clearly got a little bit confused and couldn't tell the difference between what was real and what wasn't! Who can blame you though, our words are utterly preposterous!

Not too shabby! You probably know quite a few ridiculous-sounding British phrases so were able to decipher the real from the fake! Lovely jubbly!

Either you're a Brit, or an American who knows when they're when they're being BS-ed! Either way – stunning job. No bollocking from me!
