During the NBC red carpet show before SNL's big 40th anniversary special, Jim Carrey made everything reaaaally awkward by asking Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie, "Where are you hiding Brian Williams?"
"Oh, look at the time," Lauer replied as Tina Fey cringed at Carrey's reference to the suspended NBC Nightly News anchor.
"I just want to say something in his defense," Carrey went on. "If the helicopter in front of me gets hit, I'm taking the story."
And THEN former mayor Rudy Giuliani also made a joke at the anchor's expense, making sure it was known he was giving SNL creator Lorne Michaels credit for the joke he made during SNL's first post-9/11 show.
Everyone collectively cringed.
Rudy Giuliani just mentioned Brian Williams for absolutely no reason.
Is anyone doing a running count of the number of time Brian Williams gets name-checked at this SNL red carpet thingy?
NBC has to be thrilled with all the Brian Williams talk on the SNL red carpet.
all these people on the SNL red carpet bringing up Brian Williams just to make NBC anchors cringe = more proof that comedians are the best
