I'm sure you remember Heidi Montag from MTV's The Hills — both the OG series and the recently canceled reboot.
Well, Heidi is on social media these days, touting the health benefits of eating raw meat.
Here she is eating raw liver. "There are so many health benefits to eating liver, animal organs, raw liver," she said before taking a chomp. "You definitely get used to it."
She also tagged Dr. Paul Saladino, whose website describes him as "the leading authority on the carnivore diet."
Earlier this month, Heidi shared a clip of herself eating, uh, raw bull testicles. "Eating bull balls, it’s all about the animal organs," she captioned.
Strange as this might seem, Heidi is not the only celeb who indulges in this dietary habit.
And even celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has called for more people to eat raw meat.
So, is it really safe to eat raw meat? Well, the food-poisoning risk factor has everything to do with how well the meat was stored and/or prepared prior to consumption. Still, according to Healthline: "Any potential benefits of eating raw meat are likely outweighed by the higher risk of contracting a foodborne illness. Still, more data is needed to establish specific nutritional differences between raw and cooked meat."
