Mindy Kaling Has A New Teen Show On Netflix And It Honestly Looks So Cute

"Buckle up for some steamy teen romance."

Like many of you, Netflix has become my closest friend during these trying times, and thanks to Mindy Kaling, we're about to get closer. The trailer for her new coming-of-age show, Never Have I Ever, just dropped and it's possibly the cutest thing I've seen all week.

The series, which has been described as a semi-autobiographical look into Kaling's childhood, follows a first-generation Indian-American teen named Devi as she juggles high school and family life while also trying to enhance her popularity status and romantic life.

Watch out Sherman Oaks High, here comes Devi Vishwakumar! Never Have I Ever premieres April 27.

Mindy Kaling is the show's creator and executive producer.

Now, if you scrolled through this post without hitting play on the trailer, let me break it down for you. It begins with Devi reading After by Anna Todd in bed. If you don't know, the book is a YA romance novel that was originally inspired by Harry Styles. So, great start.

Then, five seconds in, her crush knocks on her bedroom door and wants to get it on with her, so this great start just got wilder.

He removes his shirt to prove that yes, he has done a crunch or two.

And her face basically becomes all of ours 'cause this show has already got us hooked.

But, of course, it was all a dream, as most good things are in life.

We're then introduced to her two best friends, Eleanor and Fabiola, who are looking to have a memorable sophomore year. I can't even remember mine.

Only problem? Devi seems to think they need to be cooler. (They look plenty cool to me, but you know, high school.)

So she comes up with a plan to "rebrand" them by selecting "attainable but status-enhancing" people for each of them to date. Doesn't look like Jonah here will be taking the bait though.

We love seeing a member of the Lambily.

The trailer then goes on to describe each of these three friends as I would honestly describe myself: "Nerdy..."

    "...extra..."

    ...and best of all, "thirsty."

We then get a montage of Devi calling a guy out...

...calling out high school in general...

...and expressing this sentiment we've ALL felt (or are currently feeling, especially if you're living life on Zoom now).

Oh, and in between all that, we get a glimpse into her Thirsty Thoughts™:

I'll just let Devi here sum this ALL up for you with seven simple words:

So mark your calendars for April 27 and watch Devi and her crew take on high school in the wildest way possible. I know I'll be bingeing it.
