🚨 There are MASSIVE — and I mean MASSIVE — spoilers ahead for The White Lotus Season 2! 🚨
The White Lotus wrapped up Season 2 this past weekend, and tbh, I personally loved this season more than Season 1.
From the cast to the characters to the storylines, this season built upon everything that made Season 1 a must-watch TV show.
The Season 2 finale was, of course, chaotic as we finally found out who died at the White Lotus this time around. Alongside the anxiety of finding out which characters died, there were some other storylines that were equally stressful — namely, the whole Cameron (Theo James), Daphne (Meghann Fahy), Harper (Aubrey Plaza), and Ethan (Will Sharpe) situation.
As we headed into the final episode, Ethan was still trying to figure out exactly what happened between Cameron and Harper. After Harper admitted that she and Cameron shared a brief kiss, Ethan was still jealous and not satisfied with her admission.
This eventually led to one of the best scenes from The White Lotus Season 2 finale, when Ethan told Daphne he thinks something happened between Harper and Cameron.
The way Daphne's face instantaneously shifted from her happy-go-lucky personality to being stunned and, I think, genuinely hurt that Harper would possibly do that to her is amazing. It is one of the best-acted moments from Meghann Fahy, in a season filled with career-defining work from her.
What's also impressive is what Meghann is able to convey in this part of the scene without any dialogue. In this 30-second moment, it's the subtle shift in her smile and the emotion she's able to hold in her eyes that make this an awardworthy performance.
Daphne knows Cameron cheats on her. In fact, she doesn't seem too bothered by it because she knows how to get back at him and is seemingly okay with the dynamic they have, but it's the fact that HARPER kissed him that makes this heartbreaking for her. Daphne trusted Harper, and I think she thought she finally had a genuine female friend.
Meghann takes her performance as Daphne to a new level in this moment. It was so good, I literally paused, hit rewind, and watched it again before continuing with the episode.
After this scene, Daphne convinces Ethan to take a walk to a nearby island with her. Whether they have sex or kiss or nothing happens, when Ethan returns, he's a whole new person. He finally has sex with Harper, and their marriage seems to be okay again.
While The White Lotus Season 2 is filled with great performances from the cast, it's Meghann who becomes this season's standout, much like Jennifer Coolidge as Tanya in Season 1.
As someone who watched Meghann as Sutton Brady on The Bold Type for five seasons, I am so happy that she's finally getting the recognition she absolutely deserves. She was great then, and she's only gotten better.
Basically, as soon as The White Lotus Season 2 finale ended, fans, myself included, were quick to voice their love for Meghann and her work as Daphne, with most calling for her to be nominated for an Emmy Award next year.
So, below are some of the best tweets about Meghann's performance as Daphne in The White Lotus Season 2 finale:
