Here's All The Storylines The "Squid Game" Creator Would Be Open To Exploring If The Show Gets Renewed

I would watch the Squid Game characters from now until the end of time.

Warning: There are MASSIVE spoilers for Squid Game ahead!

As of right now, Squid Game is officially Netflix's most-watched original series. In the span of 25 days since it dropped, the show has been watched by 111 million Netflix subscribers.

So with more and more people discovering this brilliant Korean series, it's pretty logical to think about the show continuing after this record-breaking first season.

While there are several storylines that are wrapped up by the end, there are also characters who could return should the show be renewed for Season 2.

Speaking with the Hollywood Reporter, Squid Game creator, writer, and director Hwang Dong-hyuk revealed what he would like to explore in a potential second season.

First, he explained that Gi-hun not getting on the plane is not necessarily him "turning back to get revenge," but it could be "interpreted as him making a very on-the-spot eye contact with what is truly going on in the bigger picture."

While Dong-hyuk loves the ambiguous ending for Gi-hun, he said he could "explore more about how he’s going to navigate through his reckoning with the people who are designing the games."

Meanwhile, the relationship between Jun-ho and The Front Man is very interesting to Dong-hyuk. He said, "If I end up creating Season 2, I’d like to explore that storyline — what is going on between those two brothers?"

Although we see The Front Man shoot Jun-ho at the end of the season, many fans have speculated that he could've survived.

Even Wi Ha-joon, who stars as Jun-ho, told Deadline, "I want him to return alive, find his brother, and ask him tons of questions. As a brother, I would ask him sincerely. As a detective, I want to explore the overall secrets behind the game as well."

Another character Dong-hyuk would like to flesh out more is the salesman, who is played by Gong Yoo.

"I could also go into the story of that recruiter in the suit who plays the game of ddakji with Gi-hun and gives him the card in the first episode."

Honestly, I would totally be down to watch Squid Game Season 2 .The remaining characters are so interesting and compelling that following any of them for another season would be amazing.

What would you like to see in a potential Squid Game Season 2? Or do you think it's perfect as a limited series?
