15 Video Games From My Childhood That I Would, No Joke, Give My Left Pinky Toe To Play Again One More Time

Back before video games were all on a touchscreen.

1. Barbie Horse Adventures: Wild Horse Rescue

Okay, it's obviously not the best Barbie game out there, but you could clean, ride, and rescue horses. Although Barbie walks super slow and awkward, the horses are fun and challenging to find. You can also race against an overly cocky girl and beat her. Where the game really shines is making you bond with the horses and the different biomes.

2. Blinx: The Time Sweeper

Before Luigi's Mansion, we had Blinx using his vacuum cleaner. Blinx could manipulate time and fight weird blob monsters. There was even a second game were you could customize your cat or pig characters.

3. Shrek SuperSlam

Activision/DreamWorks/Nintendo

You already know a fighting game with Shrek was going to be amazing. Honestly, almost every Shrek game was. It was truly the only game that came close to Super Smash Bros back in the day. It had a huge roster of fighters. From Gingy to a random unicorn, it had it all while keeping the weird and hilarious humor that comes along with Shrek.

4. Pac-Man World

Namco/PlayStation

A 3D adventure were you had to save Ms. Pac-Man and other friends from the evil ghosts. The different worlds were fun and unique and filled with challenges. I remember never being able to beat the game as a kid, but still spending hours playing.

5. Fuzion Frenzy

Blitz Games/Xbox

This one is definitely in my top three favorite childhood Xbox games. Fuzion Frenzy was like a teenage version of Mario Party. But this one had you jump and duck under pipes that would go faster and faster, until only one person was left. Each character had their own winning phrase such as Zack saying, "Like taking candy from a baby," and Samson saying, "Were you guys even playing?"

6. Reel Fishing

Sure a game about catching fish doesn't exactly sound thrilling, at first. But what makes it stand out is that you get to see if they're happy and you can keep them in a fish tank as pets. It was just a simple fishing game that made even non-fishers like fishing.

7. Diner Dash: Flo On the Go

PlayFirst/Nintendo

This game definitely made you thankful for wait staff, as it teaches you about just how hard it is to do their job. You have to clean up spills, take orders, deliver the food, and grab the dirty dishes, all while more and more customers start to get mad waiting for you. Can't say it was the most relaxing game, though.

8. Art Academy: Lessons for Everyone!

For an art game made in the early 2000s, it was surprisingly really well made and actually taught you how to draw some cool things. It had a couple different versions that taught you how to draw Disney characters and even Pokémon.

9. Space Jam

Acclaim Entertainment/Warner Bros/PlayStation

Similar to the movie you would play basketball as either the Tune Squad or the Monstars. It was a really fun game with cool cheat codes. My favorite cheat code was making one team giant and other super small in height. Because it was the '90s, the game was actually weirdly sponsored by McDonald's.

10. Super Mario Strikers

Next Level Games/Nintendo

This one was, dare I say, probably the best Mario sports game. Each character had their own super strike and you could kick your opponents into an electric fence. I remember unlocking the robot which could super strike whenever. Something about knocking annoying characters into the fence was just *chef's kiss.*

11. Star Wars: Masters of Teräs Käsi

Because who doesn't love fighting with lightsabers? You could watch as Boba Fett and Chewbacca fight to the death. It was a weird, but fantastic fighter game, with all your favorite characters from back in the day.

12. Disney's Aladdin in Nasira's Revenge

I especially remember quitting on the flying carpet levels, because this game was HARD hard. For some reason, your weapon for awhile is fruit that you throw at the guards. But who doesn't love Aladdin and Abu?

13. Rayman Arena

In a time of a surge in racing games, there weren't many racing games where you raced on foot. The levels all felt original with three speed boosts and hoops that you could swing from to pick up speed. This game was notorious for taking up all my free time growing up.

14. Donkey Kong Jungle Beat

You really can't say you're a huge Donkey Kong fan if you never played with the bongos. It's goofy and really fun smacking the heck out of some bongos. But just be aware after a while, your hands will hurt.

15. And SpongeBob SquarePants: Lights, Camera, Pants!

THQ/Nickelodeon/Nintendo

A four-player party game that had everything from cooking Krabby Patties to prison breaking. This game really had some awesome mini games, which you could unlock by doing well in the main game. The best ones were knocking each other off a platform while on unicycles and racing boat mobiles.
