Lizzo’s Current Dancers Have Broken Their Silence On Working With Her Amid News Of A Lawsuit Against The Singer

"So grateful that the standards and existence of Beauty in THIS team goes beyond the surface!"

Lizzo's Big Grrrls and Big Boiiis issued a statement after news hit earlier this month that the singer was being sued by three of her former dancers.

On Aug. 1, a lawsuit was filed accusing the singer of sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment. On Aug. 9, it was reported that lawyers said they were looking into at least six additional complaints against Lizzo from people who toured with her or worked on the Emmy-winning reality series Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls.

Two days after the lawsuit news hit, Lizzo denied the allegations in an Instagram post: "I am not the villain that people and the media have portrayed me to be these last few days."

Now Lizzo's dance crew — the Big Grrrls and Big Boiiis — have posted on Instagram about working on the Special tour, which concluded last month.

"We had the time of our lives on The Special Tour. We have been so honored to share the stage with such amazing talent," the statement began. "The commitment to character and culture taking precedence over every movement and moment has been one of the Greatest lessons and Blessings that we could possibly ask for."

Turning their attention directly to Lizzo, the post continued, "THANK YOU to Lizzo for shattering limitations and kicking in the door way for the Big Grrrl & Big Boiii Dancers to be able to do what we love! You have created a platform where we have been able to parallel our Passion with a purpose! Not only for Us, but for Women and All people breaking Barriers."

"We've been traveling and exploring new horizons of the world. So many advantages to prevailing over hardships that society and the entertainment and beauty industry can bring...So grateful that the standards and existence of Beauty in THIS team goes beyond the surface!" the post continued, possibly alluding to the weight-shaming allegations in the lawsuit.
