It's not just the kids that look forward to bedtime.
The former Captain America himself graced our screens back in 2017 to send children across the UK to bed. He read a total of three stories, and I think we can all agree that that wasn't nearly enough! Even Superheros Have Bad Days was his debut story, which is definitely apt for Chris!
From Bridgerton to CBeebies, Regé-Jean can really do it all. Last year he read King of the Classroom and Rain Before Rainbows on the children's channel, and let's be honest, parents tuned in for themselves as much as they did for their kids.
We're no strangers to the talents of the amazing X-Men actor, but who knew how well he could recite a bedtime story?! James read five stories in 2015 including No Matter What, Superworm, and Little Red Riding Hood. Perhaps he should be known as Professor CBeebies from now on.
The Oscar winner and Legally Blonde actor will sit down to read her first story – Extraordinary by Penny Harrison – on Friday 28 January 2022! We can exclusively reveal that she does an amazing job, and we're fully expecting everyone to enjoy her guess spot on the channel.
Fantastic Beasts actor Eddie sent children to sleep across the nation when he read If I Had a Dinosaur, The Dressing-Up Dad, and Big Little Hippo. He certainly brought a little magic to the event, and everyone is patiently awaiting his return, that's for sure!
AS IF the Friends star has made an appearance on CBeebies – what is this world?! David read his story If I Had a Sleepy Sloth and The Smeds and the Smoos back in 2020. Even though this was different to his usual comedic setting, he absolutely nailed the bedtime story, and I'm sure we can all agree that we'd be happy to have him back any time!
In 2018, hunky Ewan read Everybody's Welcome but has yet to return for a second story. He was a great candelabra in Beauty and the Beast, but an even better storyteller. Bring him back, CBeebies!
Dolly's Southern voice soothed listeners when she read Dog Loves Books and Stuck in the Mud. Not surprisingly, it sounded like poetry and I could have watched her for hours! Her comforting presence also worked wonders for the children of Britain. We could all probably listen to her from nine to five, amiright???
Rock and roll legend Dave Grohl appeared on CBeebies recently, and in stark contrast to his on-stage persona, he was the perfect bedtime story reader! He made Octotpus' Garden sound soothing, and also read Ten Minutes to Bed Little Monster like a lullaby.
He's only recorded one story, but if you've ever heard Ed sing (which I imagine you have unless you live under a rock) then you can imagine his storytelling is just as captivating. The "Thinking Out Loud" singer popped up on our screens last year with the story I Talk Like a River.
Someone else I can barely believe has done this is Ryan! Despite being conducted over FaceTime all the way from Canada, the story he told was super sweet and entertaining. He read Where the Wild Things Are, and ended the recording with a cute farewell to listeners. If Ryan's too busy I'm sure Deadpool wouldn't mind filling in next time!
Another name that makes this list so illustrious is Elton John. In 2018, he read The Dog Detectives: Lost in London, surprising everyone who tuned in. Kids may not have known who they were watching exactly, but parents were certainly starstruck.
Isla has read a few stories on CBeebies, including It Takes Two To T'wit T'woo, Big, and Everything. The stunning actor has featured in both 2016 and 2017, and I'm sure she'll make a return soon enough.
After Orlando told the storied We Are Together and Littlest Dreamer: A Bedtime Adventure in 2018 and 2019 respectively, Twitter was flooded with blushing parents. Although these stories are aimed at kids, CBeebies certainly knew what they're doing! He was a great addition to the channel, and we all look forward to having him back.
The "Uptown Funk" singer and producer joined the Cbeebies gang back in 2017 when he read Rhyme Crime, and then followed this story with Pom Pom Gets the Grumps. We all know he's a lyrical genius and one of the best music producers today, but maybe he should keep up the bedtime storytelling too!
ELSA HERSELF has appeared on CBeebies, regaling children the nation over with her melodious voice. Idina read Robin's Winter Song and it was almost like watching our own rendition of Frozen. The only thing that was missing was a sparkly blue dress and the blonde braid, but she was still as magical as ever.
Now that Rick is on the CBeebies squad, we're never gonna give him up (sorry). Chances are that children were unaware of the icon reading Show and Tell to them, but parents knew what was up!
The one and only Björn graced our screen with a few stories back in 2020, and it was truly amazing. The ABBA alumnus read Storm Whale and Goat's Coat, and we haven't let it go since. Thank you for the music stories, Björn.
The Theory of Everything star shared the story Spaghetti Hunters via a video call during lockdown. She also recorded The Huffalots, but two stories just isn't enough for us, Felicity!
If you can believe it, The Hoff himself blessed us all by appearing on the segment back in 2012 and again in 2013. He read Jack's Tractor and My Friend Nigel. Once again, kids were probably none the wiser, but adults across the UK knew the Baywatch bombshell a mile off!
